...'Celeste' walks in, looking around...her musical instruments are hanging over her back, and pouches hang over both shoulders..."good tae see activity here" she says in her thick accent...she then heads to an Inn...she has some coin...and she can earn coin by playing her instruments, and she has a warm alto voice, and knows many songs...

...She sings a song at the Inn...hoping to get a meal and a room. The Men are all too distracted to listen. The Innkeeper gives her a mug of soup, and a piece of bread and tells her to leave the mug at the pourch, and Celeste heads out...her two coins weren't enough for a room. She finds a place in an alley to rest, and eats, and then leans against the wall and falls asleep.
...She never returned the mug...she suddenly awoke as a man was shaking her. He was drunk and waving a collar at her...and shouting..."YOU WILL BE MINE!!!!" She actually looked him over...she really NEEDED a rest...being collared for a few months was something she had been through before...being fed well and allowed to bathe and sleep in furs was nice...just laying back and letting the Man have his way wasn't too bad...she would always get up after he fell asleep, and eat and drink, and then crawl back with him. When she tired of him, she would gather stuff, and run away...and she knew how to remove a collar. Sometimes it would just be picking the lock...other times just beating on the joint with a rock for a while...that wasn't fun...her ears would be ringing, and her neck would be sore for a while.
...But, this time she pretended to be scared, and screamed and flailed around...and then broke the mug against the side of his head. In his state he fell down.
...She quickly went through his clothing, and grabbed all of the coin and valuables she could find...and most of his weapons. She left a dagger in his hands, and scampered away muttering...
..."Ye think ye can mess with a Huntress?...
...She ran to a small Inn, and paid some coin, and sat in the room...she also arranged for a woman to attend her in the morning...she needed to have her hair addressed...and new clothing...and maybe some makeup...she didn't like to wear makeup...but she needed to get out of town...and she thought that she should look different as she left the gates...

...Celeste is having a large breakfast in her room...she is a small Free Woman...5'4"...slender. She has very pale skin, and enormous green eyes, and long jet black hair and full red lips. She just nods at the serving bond...the bond can't BELIEVE how much Celeste had eaten...and Celeste dismisses her...
...Celeste lays down in the furs, and works on composing a new song...and thinking...
..."I gotta earn some more coin...er jus head back inta the Forests...

the drunk man has come to and reports to the local sheriff that he was robbed with a dsscription of Celeste. An all out search is being launched for. All in the village will be questioned if they have seen her.

...I am sitting, eating some fruit at a stall, and hear some Men talking about a Panther Huntress who was somehow here. I just keep eating...I had had my dark hair trimmed and blond highlights set in...and I was dressed as a respectable FW...the coin I had stolen was eagerly accepted by Merchants.
...I give the Men a nod of respect as I leave...I had paid for the fruit I had eaten...and the large amount of fruit I was carrying...
...I tell them, "Catch tha bitch...she sounds dangerous...an I have Family."
...I walk back into the decrepit alleys, and hand fruit to the children I see...and just keep a pear for myself.

The search continues through the village. The men reach the tavern and in to begin questioning the inn keeper and staff. A report is given of a woman changing appearances the morning after the incident. A new description is given to thise looking for her as the search continues with the new information.

..."Celeste"...(the name she had adopted a while ago)...is sitting in a back alley, sharing roasted vulos with other women. The three had been pleased to see Celeste approach...she was wearing nice clothing...and holding a basket of food. They had planned on attacking her, but they noticed that Celeste was walking with excellent balance...and had a large scramasaex at her back. The leader told the other two..."Just try to get this bitch to share, she probably has ost vemon needles hidden."
...Celeste had stopped short of them, and looked them over, and casually said..."Anyone lookin fer trouble?" The leader replied, "No, just something to eat." Celeste had looked each one in the eyes...and Celestes' large green eyes could be scary...it could be like looking at the depths of the Ocean...while sinking to the bottom. But then, Celeste smiled, and her face relaxed. Celeste stays, and says..."A Merchant entrusted some kid tae deliver these, I got tha kid tae hand them over tae me...I did toss over some copper bits...so it wasn't EXACTLY a robbery...but I 'spect they cost more than I paid...an I can't eat all a them."
...The three relax, and make room, and Celeste sits down and opens the basket. The basket is packed with roasted vulos, and they are still very warm, and stuffed with rice and other things. Celeste takes two, and nods to the women..."Enjoy". They are very hungry, and reach into the basket. The four women look very fearsome as they eat...their sharp white teeth tear into the meat...and they quickly chew and swallow. They pass around a bota of water as they feed, and then relax a bit, and talk.
...Celeste asks..."Be there any news?"
...The other three keep eating, but tell her of events. She is informed of politics, and festivals...of high level Companionships. The three giggle as they describe how they had entered a Companionship feast dressed as kitchen drudges...and had quietly left the feast with baskets of food and drink. They then laugh, and say...
..."There is word that there is an outlaw woman roaming around. She knocked out, and robbed a Merchant. The Men are searching for her." I keep eating and nod...and one of the women looks closely at me, and says..."The description of the outlaw is kind of like you."
...I just look back at her, and say, "actually, you kinda look like tha woman ye describe." They get quiet, and then start laughing, and work on finishing the meal. I take a last drink of water, and wink, and tell them..."Keep tha basket."
...I leave, and carefully make my way through the alleys. I have to stop a few times, and hide in a narrow passage. I quickly climb a wall, and grab clothing from a line, and go to a passage, and change. I hide my scramasaex under the skirt, and pull the hood over my head, hiding my hair...the clothing is much too large for me...I actually have to cut away the hem after nearly tripping.
...I make my way to another Inn...it is very modest. I pay some coin, and tell the Owner..."I may have some visitors." He nods and says..."I will expect 15% of what you earn." I shrug, and say..."Usually, I only hand over 6%" He just says, "You are a mess, you probably won't do much business." I just sigh, and say..."10%?"...we agree on 12% .
...I don't go to the room that he assigned me...I grab and push a street bond into it...and tell her..."Enjoy...an give tha Owner 12%"...I pick the lock of a different room. I summon a serving bond, and I have her fetch me food and drink. I also let her bathe me, and bring me fresh clothing, and then I soak in the tub for a while, thinking over what the women had been saying.
...I figure that I don't have much time, and get out of the tub. I dry off, and trim my hair, and put on makeup and the fresh clothing. I decide to leave the scramasaex in the room, it is too hard to conceal, and I had...actually...not paid for it...I had taken it from the Merchant. I leave by the back stairs, and head for the stables.

The search contiues for the woman. By now, the whole village has been alerted and is looking for her. It is presumed she has fallen in with others of the criminal element who may be hiding her. Word goes out there is a reward for information leading to her capture enough to cause even those in the criminal element to consider giving up a charge. Reports of other thefts are being reported following a pattern through the village. Each time a woman who looks slightly different. It is presumed she knows how to disguise herself and blend in, not to mention is flight of foot. It is decided to begin rousting the known criminals to see what they know.

..."Celeste" is walking away from the stables, muttering to herself...the StableMaster had even refused to SELL her a mount, even though she had shown him the coin she had stolen. He had just said, 'I got to keep my inventory, and"...he had looked her over..."And am I not going to rent one to you." She had walked away, casually, and then had run into an alley. She had heard some male voices calling out to bring her back...and she had turned on her 'sprint', randomly selecting alleyways to enter. She had raced by a few men, who looked at her...and she had simply called back..."I be late fer my stint at tha Inn." They had just laughed.
...I see women lined up at the butcher shop, and get an idea. I walk by them, and find the servants entrance. I get very passive and submissive, and walk in with five other women. I carefully watch as they wash, and put on gowns hanging on a wall, and imitate them. I follow them into the back area, where carcasses are being brought in. They go to stations, and I stand for a moment...deciding what to do...a Man comes over, and looks me over, and says..."You must be the new one, what is your name?" I shrink back, my eyes frightened...and say..."My name is Oshia, an I be tha daughter a Lenax tha Oatmaker...we be havin trouble...not many oats tae make...an they be 'itty bitty'...it takes a lot tae make a cookie...an I like tae eat them."
...The Foreman decides that I am simpleminded, and grabs me and hauls me to an area, and points at tarsk carcasses, and says..."You know how tae cut a tarsk?" I nod, "We would get a tarsk at the Jul." I start crying, and wipe tears..."We didna have one last Jul." The Foreman calls to me, "Show me that you can clean one."

...I keep the tears going, and at times wipe my nose...and work on the tarsk...the man had handed me a quiva, and was watching. I look at the animal, I was VERY skilled at dressing game, and a quiva was like part of my hand. I shift the quiva into my right hand, it is not the dominant one, and open the animal. I am careful not to be too clumsy...at best...I would just be tossed out into the alley...but I don't want to be too skilled.
...I stop the tears as I start taking out the offal, and set the good parts into pans, and the offal into a bucket. The Foreman stops me a few times, and directs me on what to do...I think..."I know this better than ye"...but I nod, thank him, and do what he says. He watches me do another, and then walks to supervise other women. I just keep working, keeping my head down. Of course, I get blood and offal over my face and hair...to help disguise me.
...They give us a brief break to eat some soup and bread, and I am full, I had been eating small parts of organ meat as I worked. We get back to work, and after 8 ahn are released.
...We are herded into an area where we can wash...but I hold back. When the other women are washing, I grab two tunicdresses that will fit me, and just walk out...leaving the dress I had been wearing when I entered...and slinking down the alley...I had recovered my coin and my weapons. I looked, and smelled, VERY bad...I didn't bother to wash as I went further into the alleys...stumbling and snarling.
...I stop at a small kaiila trough, and look around...it is night...and I don't see anyone. I pull off the bloody gown, and lower myself into the trough...and quickly rinse off. I put on one of the tunicdresses I had stolen, and mutter..."Ye done worse things."
...I get myself feeling presentable, and head to another Inn that I had checked out. The Owner was drinking, and I had my hair over my face as I pushed coin across the counter, and accepted the key. He just grunted...and I entered the room. I briefly thought of heading to the women' s bathe...but I was now aware that many men were looking for me, and that there was a reward out.
...I had had mixed feelings hearing of the reward..."I had bigger ones out fer me at Ar"...but I paused to think. The reward was large enough that if I went back into the alleys...the women who had welcomed me, just might get me to stay with them...and then...while I was asleep, I would wake up to find guards grinning down at me.
...I lay down in the furs, and mutter to myself, "Ye jus may have tae get a Man tae help ye." I had done it before...
...I open a coin purse I had taken from a Man I had passed...I had just kept walking...my hands were very skilled and gentle, and my smile could get most Men to just look at me, and smile and nod...there were several gold coins mixed with the silvers and coppers
...I think that I had better make serious plans to leave. I was very good at disguise...once I had actually climbed into a large wagon carrying several Or of bonds...looking like one, they had stayed quiet...and I had removed the sirik I had placed on myself, and stolen a kaiila the 2nd night and ridden away.

Getting more and moreports of theft by the same female, the sheriff doubles the reward and uncreases the patrols. Nothing was reported at the far end of the village but this may just mean she had not hit there yet. Ambushes were put in place along the main route and alleys should she venture that direction. Guards were posted at all entry and exit points in case she tried to leave the village.

...I walk around the town, looking for a way to leave...but I keep seeing guards and such. I just smile and nod to them, and hobble away on my cane, pulling a small hand cart. I had disguised myself as an injured FW...all women on Gor looked young...the serums saw to that. I had attended some women who hadn't had the serums...and healed them...and marveled how different they looked.
...I stay away from the entries and exits to the village, it was clear that everyone was being questioned who entered and exited. I mutter to myself, "Doan even THINK a tryin tae look like a FW who did nay have tha serums. Ye would be questioned...an tha Guards be almost as clever as ye...ye can tell a good story...but tha village be alert...an...
...YE WANNA KEEP YER STUFF!!!!"
...I pull my hand cart away from the Main Street, and stop at a place on a secondary street, and sit at a table. I offer to sing a song for juice and bread...but the Merchant just says..."Coppers only."
...I set down some copper bits...and juice, bread, cheese, and a slice of bosk meat is brought.
...I eat...and look calm...although my mind is racing

...I make it out of the village...I had left most of my 'stuff' behind in my last room...and I crawl from under a shallow ditch under a fence behind an outhouse, I had been quietly digging the ditch with my nails for a while, I had seen that that fence wasn't well made...we Panthers were good at seeing things like that, and pull two small packs behind me. It is dark...but I sit for a while...watching, listening, and smelling...a Panther Huntress has many senses.
...I sense that it is safe...clouds have slipped over the moons...and there is no wind...and I sprint off...my feet leaving dust behind...I can run for several Ahn...

The guards and patrols find nothing. Reports of theft drop to normal. Either the woman has stopped her activities for some reason died, or slipped out of the village. The patrols and guards remain in place for weeks just to be sure. After three weeks, the hole under the fence is discovered and it is realized she has left. The inn keeper had kept the items she left behind and sliwly sold them off without telling anyone of the woman.
