kiah helped break down the mud brick ovens and extinguish the main fire before checking over one of the commissary wagons she was allowed to drive. she got the joy of having (an npc'd with permission) tawney join her upon the wagon box. it wasn't long after getting going that we slowed to a stop again. kiah was then called over by a Kailla Trainer to remove the tack from the poor beast with a shattered left front leg that had just been put down. she could only hope it's Rider didn't suffer the same fate. the wagons were just getting under way once again when a storm hit and caused them to stop to wait it out.

Looked after the wheels, removing ice and snow from them, before covering them in fresh grease once more, getting everything in perfect workable shape

kiah served Mistress Leda while we were stopped. she again was given the responsibility of driving a commissary wagon. kiah was absolutely thrilled to see her Master! though he didn't let her warm him up, his wink and smile kept her warm for passangs. there was a quick scare when a wheel hit an unespected mound of snow and came down real hard. luckily, only dishware was the victim, mainly pots and pans coming lose. everything else remained strapped down and any further damage will not be known until it is unpacked. it was a swift lesson in not losing her focus for even a heartbeat (while thinking of the last trip she took to Turia). the river was a surprise, making terrible memories rush back but once presented with the actual water in front of her, she guided the bosk and wagon thru without a problem.

just when Turia became more than a mirage, the dream of shelter, warmth and all the wonders of the City turned into a nightmare. for reasons unbeknownst to a slave, we continued past the road to the welcoming gates and were soon caught up in a blizzard. the loss of being able to resupply was devastating and then doubled within her, as the memory of the last trip she made to Turia resurfaced. the needless destruction of all those supplies on their way back to Camp broke her heart yet again but also left her more determined to never let those same mistakes happen again. one of the lead bosk she was guiding, gored a kailla right as whiteout conditions halted the wagons and sent nearly everyone inside a wagon to warm up.

(ooc note: it was a tough night on the emotions *whispers* her thanks to the ST...*adds, just in case*...may her trainers know that it's school vacation week

kiah continued to drive one of the commissary wagons, this time without incident. she was able to keep her concentration with little distraction, getting only got a glimpse of a stopped wagon as she passed. the bosk as well as the wagon remain in good condition considering the elements and kiah remained intact despite sharing the warmth of the wagon with ten Outriders the night before. the same group returned for a second night in search of warmth within the wagon.

kiah had a little trouble with a snow drift but lucky for her, Mistress Malefic pulled her to safety. a less fortunate Mistress was also rescued by our fine Mistress Mal, as witness by kiah who ran to help after hearing the horrific screams. snowflake came to ride on/in the wagon with kiah. we made some progress, though how much, was impossible to judge by kiah. she only knowsg the team and wagon she was entrusted with, fared well. we no sooner got to land with less snow that orders came to stop and check animals and ourselves. one of the bosk was traded out to have a split to tis hoof tended to. the tradeoff for less snow seemed to be more wind, as it was more brutal than ever. she could only hope that better weather would come to Tuchuk soon.

(ooc note: kiah worked with snowflake a bit in pm. she sent his room name tags via email (but will not use this means of contact again)  since he wasn't registered on the board yet. she did emphasize that registering is very important. oh! she didn't get him his chest of clothing yet as we rolled with r/p while also in pm. she will get him one next time, unless another of you get to it/him first. again, welcome home snowflake)

kiah offered serve to Mistress Taryn and later on, to Master Terran. she was allowed to continue driving one of the commissary wagons. the rocky ground as expected was hard on the wagons, with the one kiah driving taking a bad hit to a rock, breaking the yoke and leaving her at the mercy of Masters and thralls. the call for all the wagons to halt, came soon afterward...she also got a little reminder from a shadowy blonde.

(she isn't sure if it's appropriate to post to the migration log regarding her Master's recognition of her so she will briefly state this: she is absolutely thrilled to be able to bring honor to the collar He keeps on her throat)

(ooc note:..it wasn't until kiah was in bed that she realized an additional lesson of the yoke r/p, that being, kiah never addressed the putting on of a yoke when she was prepping/harnessing the bosk, to the wagon, before we pulled out..~chuckles~..the things that come to mind when trying to fall asleep)

Migration is a fun roleplay where all the emotions should be felt... the whole spectrum when done properly. Some just like the action nights... some hate the tedium of simple travel. But migration is jam-packed with lessons and insights for those tuned in to them. Even if they strike when trying to fall asleep.  ;) :-*
