Tuchuk is on the move!

The breaking of camp was accomplished smoothly and without serious incident.

I had considered leaving Karanis' and Kirtia's wagons behind, but chances are they would have been taken by anyone happening upon them. They accompany Tuchuk. If they or their contents are wanted, they know where to find them. If they are unclaimed by winter migration... the wagons and contents will become property of Tuchuk.

Bjorin's wagon and all property has been claimed by my Daughter Lilac. Bjorin left Tuchuk with nothing but the clothes on his back. So be it. Lilac and his Son Wapike now own Bjorin's holdings.

The wagons have crossed the minor river without incident and will continue moving until the midday heat becomes too great. Then the wagons will halt and wait until evening to move once again.

See to the stock first and foremost. Wagons bearing large casks of water are available for the stock if the wagons have not reached water by the time they stop.

Tuchuk might as well get used to limited resources while we are all fresh instead of waiting until migration takes its toll. Individual wagons who wish to have hot food may do so... but the commissary will not be preparing hot food.

Hungry kailla may feed wild or may feed on their owner's stock. Camp stock is reserved for use at a later time and for replenishing the stores in our summering lands.

Remember to hydrate well!!!

Broken rocky ground is ahead and sandals from the cobbler wagon have been placed on the Cobbler wagon platform for use by any who have no adequate footwear. These are not prime quality and are considered expendable should they be damaged.

The main herd has been divided into three smaller herds. Two Oralu guard each herd.

All Warriors will keep weapons close at hand as Kataii have been noted in the area. Warriors on Duty will remain fully armed and battle ready.

Skirmishers... Point Riders, Flankers, and Rear Guard Riders have been doubled.

The wagons currently are rolling 60 abreast and should be kept close. Do not spread out. The verr herd and tarsk herd are located in the center of the third row of wagons.

Healers may add their notes to their log as well as special alerts and announcements to this log.

End Log Entry 1.

As before on the way to the point, there is the special tea being handed out, the rule for now is 1 bota of tea for every 2 botas of water... This will more than likely change as time goes on...

Thankfully we made the watering hole. All stock is to be kept out of it to avoid fouling the water. Water wagons, buckets, casks, etc may be filled after all has had their fill. It is spring fed and though we will likely lower the water level if patient it will rise again.

I have not been made aware of any deaths as yet... though several reports have come in of heat exhaustion, dehydration etc.

All Men when on duty are not required to wear their leather jerkins or helmets. Helmets must be kept close at hand when on Duty. Shirts are required unless sufficiently tanned enough not to become a casualty due to sunburn.

The wagons have cleared the immediate rocky ground with no wagon losses and only minimal injuries.

Try to avoid sleeping inside the wagons. Instead, sleep in the shade offered beneath the wagon platforms where air can circulate.

Over 500 bosk remains were located just west of our wagons. This explains why the Kataii were attempting to raid our bosk lately. Remain on alert for possible additional raids.

We shall remain in place until evening and will then move onward and attempt to make the River of Tears crossing. I had patrolled to the RoT and have seen what is in store for Tuchuk.

Rest and reserve your strength. Fortify yourselves. It will be needed.

Addendums:

Taryn's Daughter has earned the name of Tanna.

Salem has been made active Orman.

My Daughter Amber has accepted Salem's offer to enter into courtship.

Oraluman Tenujin

Preliminary report....

The River of Tears was crossed successfully even though under fire and attack from Kataii.

Exact number yet unknown.

General orders:

Commissary wagons are operational and hot food is available.

Tend the wounded and assist in making ready the dead for pyre.

The Wagons will remain on the Southern bank of the River throughout the day and will once again press on as evening comes on.

The Healers continue to work throughout the night and will work in shifts during the day.

Gather all discarded weaponry and gear... collect the tack and saddles from all fallen mounts.

Unclaimed weaponry, gear, and tack will be placed in a freight wagon.

All wounded bosk have been tended and the few killed have been used for the cookfires. Broth, stew, and bosk sides are cooking and will be available by midday.

Water from upriver is safe for human consumption as well as the stock. Avoid water downriver as it is still tinged with blood.

Tend to the wagons and check the wheels and axles well. Many wagons have arrows in them. These will need removed. Some are bloody. Please have this cleaned off as well. The sooner all is restored to order the better off Tuchuk will be.

All Patrols and Guards will be doubled.

Oraluman Tsuki has been relieved of his command by order of Raziel and will be brought before the Ubar on charges of deserting his post. Oraluman Kashi has had the same charge levelled against him but as yet he has not been located.

The herds are safe and secured.

End Preliminary report

Combined Log Entry 3 and 4

RAGNAR

Losses due to combat:

18 kailla
9 bosk (8 used as food, one lost downriver)
8 kajirus
2 kajira
8 Women
3 young Sons
1 young Daughter
319 Warriors
22 Warriors missing
231 Warriors wounded, 22 Critical

19 Kataii Captives
462 Kataii Confirmed Killed

A pyre was given the dead Kataii.

A large freight wagon was used for Tuchuk dead and pyre has sent their remains to Endless Sky.

The wagons are once again on the move and will continue until the midday heat comes on.

When the wagons stop tend the stock and wagons. Water will come from the casks and the water wagons. The wagons currently navigate the flats.

The botas of tea are being collected at the medical freight wagon and are being hung from the railing.

Patrols and Guards remain doubled.

Tsuki has been killed and died a Warrior after being found guilty of deserting his post in time of combat action. Though of good intentions an Oraluman should have been wise enough to know not to leave the head of the column unprotected by point Riders.

Oraluman Tsu was not brought before the Council of Oraluman as he died a Warrior's death in battle.

When the wagons halt midday leftover bosk, stew, and broth will be available. Recommended the stew and broth be used first for the wounded and then for camp distribution.

A breeze blows steady across the flats where the wagons are currently.

Water the stock and hydrate yourselves but refrain from using water for bathing or cleaning except where necessary. The wounded and Healers will require as much water as possible.

Oraluman Kam

A gentle rain falls and the wagons have halted on the flats once again. The water pools and the stock can use the extra water. People shall drink only from the casks.

One missing Warrior was found dead and was tended to by Taryn. When the rain stops he will be returned to his family for his pyre.

Individual brazier fires as the commissary remains closed.

Kataii Scouts are still in the area and Hirodel has killed two.

Overall an easy night.

The watch remains doubled.

We've reached Turia and the wagons are settled outside the walls.

Commissary wagons are limitedly opened for small things as the fare in Turia is available to Tuchuk.

Tuchuk has reached Turia without major incident and are in the encampment outside the walls. Any wagons requiring repairs shall be taken to the repair yard.

Clean the bosk of mud via washing if necessary, brushing, scraping etc. Check for abrasions or sores from the yokes and harness. Polish horns, hooves, and nose rings in order to restore the team bosk to their best.

Clean the mud and dirt from the wagons paying strict attention to the wheels and axles. Restore the wagons to their vibrant colors and check them closely for damage or potentially need repairs.

Clean, dry, and oil the harnesses and yokes. Hang the harnesses from the wagon platform railings and stack the yokes on old hides beneath the wagons. Repair or replace damaged harnesses ad yokes.

Commissary wagons will be limited in their fare. Broth, stew, backwine, tea, and other easy items. With the availability in Turia food should be no problem. Individuals may always use their own braziers and cook as they wish from their own stores.

Hot water will be kept on hand and available at the commissaries at all times.

Tarsk and verr will be placed in the holding pens after being checked and tended. Vulo will be grain fed and the eggs will not be collected, but will instead be permitted to hatch out.

Kailla will be tended to and will be cleaned of mud and dirt, tack and gear checked and tended, pay strict attention to the paws and claws.

Each slave will be issued coin as follows:

All camp owned slaves will collect 5 copper from Oraluman Kam located on the wagon platform of Ubar's wagon.

All privately owned slaves will collect 2 copper from Oraluman Kam as a gift from Ubar.

Clan Elders may collect twenty coppers if needed.

Healers may collect up to ten silver for resupply if needed.

Any requiring additional funds for supplies or needs may also see RAGNAR, Kelsey, Amber, Nexhias, or Raziel for arrangements.

Conduct yourselves properly within the walls of Turia.

Tuchuk has left Turia and is back in the open Plains for the night.

Added to the camp stores were:

30 casks of pepper
500 barrels of tharlarion oil
300 crates of assorted fruits

The Outriders have been doubled in case Kataii are still about.

Kassar passed through Turia and we moved our columns together until Kassar broke off for their summering lands.

Individual brazier fires if wanted. Commissaries remain closed.

A nice easy leg of travel all in all.

Rest... relax... and we shall move on again come the morrow.

See to the stock and the wagons.

The herds are well and continue to move.

The wagons are stoped once again in tall good grasses. Tend the bosk well as they have to be growing tired by now.

The water wagons are moving through the column to water all the stock.

The weather has been kinder to Tuchuk lately and though still hot a constant breeze blows making it tolerable.

An accident claimed the life of a young Man this night in camp as he and his mount were crushed between two wagons. He was returned to his family and was sent to Endless Sky.

Tomar has been assigned to his training unit.

Tuchuk is about three days from the Coast by wagon.

The usual general orders are in affect.

Special accomodation given to Amber and Nexhias for their actions during the accident.

The march will continue tomorrow after the stock is well rested.

End Entry.
