Entry Eleven
The icy fields were crossed with some casualties. Two deaths within the column;
Chanar... 7th Or, 3rd Orlu, 1st Oralu, retired.
Kipchak... 1st Oralu, retired. Ubara's Own.
One death in the rear Guard;
Arin... Orluman Arin, 2nd Orlu, 3rd Askari Oralu.
Several wagons damaged but none lost. All have been repaired well enough they should be able to complete the journey.
The column halted beyond the icy fields and made camp for the night. Hot food is a must as the temperature began falling as a weather front moved in. Blizzard conditions quickly arose and rear corner lamps were ordered lit and guy lines were strung through the main routes of the column.
Any hot food or hot water for those standing the night watch is greatly appreciated. Any NOT of the watch should not venture out unless an emergency exists. Visibility will be next to nothing until the worst of the weather moves through.
Snow is accumulating quickly, and it is advised to keep the interior firebowls burning through the night not only for comfort, but to help keep the wagon domes clear of snow buildup.
Several herd bosk were injured on the ice beyond saving and were turned over to the Butchers Clan for processing. Any in need of good fresh meat should contact Mariposa or her Clan to arrange it. Any meat not issued will be entrusted to those who will use it to provide hot food for those on watch in the coming nights.
The Scouts of The 1st returned to the column for hot food and some rest. I will accept their report when they awaken as immediate report in brief held nothing of any dangers we can control.
Be certain to check the stock closely. Check hooves and paws and look for rubs or abrasions from tack and yokes.
Keep regular checks of your water barrels. They are freezing and will burst if the ice is not regularly broken up.
Maintain the usual cold weather general instructions and be smart regarding threats caused by the cold.
Anyone suffering issues with fingers, toes, noses, ears, etc that are a result of the cold report to a Healer for instructions and/or treatment.
It is my hope to move out as soon as visibility improves and light enough to advance.
End Report
