When:

Weekend of July 12th, 2008

Official Gathering Dates:

Begins Friday the 11th and ends Sunday the 13th.

(Note... past gatherings have shown many enjoy starting early and ending a day later allowing for more time together and an easier schedule. Unnofficially this gathering will run Wednesday July 9th ending Monday July 14th.)

Rates:

1 PERSON 1 BED = $39.99 PER NIGHT
2 PERSON 1 BED = $39.99 PER NIGHT
2 PERSON 2 BED = $39.99 PER NIGHT
3 PERSON 2 BED = $39.99 PER NIGHT
4 PERSON 2 BED = $39.99 PER NIGHT

PLUS SALES TAX OF 7.5%



Motel is in a semi private setting 15 minutes from both Salem and Alliance Metropolitan areas.

There are both smoking and non smoking rooms available.

One and two bed rooms available.

There are only 20 rooms!!!

I HIGHLY recommend  people rooming together and sharing the cost of the room.

Bring your swimsuits as there is a pool for our enjoyment.


Contact the Motel and book your reservations.  A credit card security deposit of one night's stay is required to hold the room. Any cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to avoid loss of deposit.

only 4 months to go... and it does look like Ray and I will be there... with some goodies for the BBQ portion...

Though as time gets closer, I will be listing the items that we have available for food, as some know that Ray works for a company that sells cases of steaks, chicken and pork... and as I said, as time gets closer, I will place a list of meats that are available, so this way no one will be left out... and yes, he also has sirloin hamburger patties available... ~grins~ all the items have been tested and devoured by the two of us and the others who live in the house with us...

who lives not far away.. but Her heath and
circumstances are not well..

but that is a long way off.. and good fortune may

I will not be attending this year... (honest this time Rags!!) as we will have just returned from a trip to Canada to see my family. Since we had to cancel on them last year due to a broken transmission, we feel obligated to go this year, and the end of June beginning of July is the only time that works for them, as dad is already booking computer classes (he teaches AG programs) for June and July.

I will be thinking of all of you during that time while I'm recovering from 3 days in a vehicle with a kidlet, and from dealing with my overbearing mother for many days.

PS: Anyone going thru my area (Cincinnati area) who needs a place to crash for the night either on the way there, or on the way back, is welcome to do so... just let me know in advance!! We do have a queen sized spare bed, and a sofa bed. Just... if you're allergic to cats... you may not want to come.

My own attendance this year does not look likely, as I will by that time have a 2-month-old and a recently-delivered gf who may or may not feel like traveling yet. I will of course post if things change by then, and honestly I would love for us to be able to come and let Kay and lil Jessica meet my huge Tuchuk family  ;D. I'm not promising anything yet though.....

OMG...OK, I called to make my reservations for July 9th through the 14th and I think the peoples mom answered the phone because I couldnt understand her and she only got the dates I wanted and my number...strange.  Ill have to call back later to make sure.  I think Im moving up in rooms to 117 instead of 115.  Ive had 115 the last two years...so time for a change.

I am confirmed for the dates, now hopefully I can actually get the time off.  As long as Lana can bring the baby and has the time she will be here as well.

Well B and I are on board as long as we have a way of getting there.  There isn't a chance in hell my car is going to make it the 9 hour trip.  Maybe we can rent a car.. hmmm.  Possibilities there, we haven't tried for a room yet..we need to get with the Flutterby in order for any of this to happen, at least I was able to go back to work rather quickly so we have no catching up to do and we can actually afford it this year.  And yes, there will be a kidlet attending.  So if Lana can come with her little one..and Arlon can come with his little one...there will be little ones abound this year!

Ray and I are in need of a room to share, we can pay our portion of the room, it's just at this point of time we can't make arrangements to get our own room... besides, it's a better idea to share... plus an added bonus, we will have a coffee maker with us, and some really good coffee to go with it, for those who might want some... also, if things work out, we will be bringing steaks and other meat stuff with us, though it all depends on if his boss decides to bow out and head back to pittsburgh... ~thinks a moment~ but at least that's on the way

I don't think I will be able to make it this year.  had a flood in my place and so getting the items replaced will take up the extra money.  stupid deductable.  maybe I can start scrapping now and have the money for next year

I would love to go but new developments pertaining to the Alaska move are taking place and changing the course of action. major life changing situations. perhaps at some point in the future I might be able have the funds next year or the year after

ok....................I reserved a room....... I think.. I could understand the person.. but I think she was mayyyyyyybe 12 years old?   took name.. phone #... date arriving, if I wanted smoking or non.  I said.. "non please, and there will actually be 3 people in the room."  she asked If I wanted 2 beds.. which kinda made me chuckle.  but anyway.. then after that said.. ok.. thats it.. I asked if she wanted to know my check out date.. she said yeah..  so I gave her that.. and that was it.. she didnt ask for CC # or anything so Im a lil bit worried.  I did say I was coming in with the chat gathering.. but Im not sure she got that..   oye..

Right now, it's up in the air for Ray and I getting to the gathering... if things go the way they currently are, we might be moving to another place shortly... so we are now on the tentative list... I am trying to work out a way for just me going, but even that, is still in the air... will keep updating all as time gets closer, and maybe something will make a path that way...

well i will say this I wont count out my being at the Gathering but it is up in the air.. the roomate thing would be a plus but as of now i good vehicle that is baby friendly would be needed and to be honest if i didnt go that would make it all the easier for the Important ones to make it.. That being Terran, Amber Julian, and The Familar.. so dont count your eggs for me being there, money in the savings account and more money by me working those days sounds really good to me right now.. so im up in the air peeps... later alex

See if Allegiant (whichis in your area roughly) or JetBlue have flights in that region. Delta will flat scalp ya :( (You're talkin like $99 each way with Allegiant if they go there vs. $500 roughly with a legacy carrier...)

I was calling all the airlines that fly to san diego international.... delta was by far th most convient with times and such... just not with my wallet...

I believe there was some third party airline that I had never heard of was the cheapest one...

Try Air Tran Airways.  I know they fly between where you are going/coming from.  They were the cheapest when I was looking for a flight in July to/from L.A. and Indianapolis.  $99.00 each way.

ok I just today went there.... I told a friend that you two were talking about it and he just HAD to take me there.... I dont go into that neck of the woods though normally as Chula Vista is getting pretty shady...

oooo so many from my home town... I miss San Diego.. I grew up in National City went to Chula Vista elementary, lived in a lil cul de sac where you could see the school and me and my brother walked it, there was a pomegranate tree on the lot we crossed.. and he and I would climb it and go to school with red mouths and hands..lol...I lived on Dalbergia street.. right out side of the back gate to the large navy base there.. mmm those where the days... Cafe LaMaze  was my moms favorite place to eat there... I remember the vans parked on the roads..selling fresh made corn husk wrapped tamales, 10 for a 1.00.... so many memories... my grand mother still lives there in La Mesa

Got most of what the baby needs for the gathering.  Will have to stop by Walmart in the next 11 days to try and find a hat..like a beach hat rather than one of those ball caps that come with outfits (they did fit his cranium and flop down in his face mostly), and swimmie diapers so he can enjoy the mr. turtle pool dat woobies got for the babies.  But at least we got a clip for his pacifier so he doesn't lose it somewhere, and shades for the windows since this trip is a bit longer than the ones we are used to taking during the day.  And since I have no idea what the water is like in Salem...and he is used to our water..we bought him nursery water to make up his cereal and formula so we don't end up with a diarrhea baby. Uhmm..we already have sunscreen..so no worries there.  I guess all we need to do..is make sure we remember to bring HIM! -lol-

Kitya and kymlet will not be there. *sighs* I'm having a severe shortage of funds... we even had to cancel the trip to Canada to see the family... which my grandparents were not happy about.

Besides... Kym would be a holy terror at this event. trust me... she would be. Daddy has taught her how to climb stepladders. Altho... she would have been an excellent skillet retriever.

Oh, btw, Kels? Kym now owns the little ducky keychain you bought me. Apparently I have forfeited all rights to it. She can even make it quack!

Menu for the Gathering


We decided last year to rely mostly on the grill and picnic type stuff to eat for the Gathering with the exception of the little cafe's fish fry night on Friday night..

Chicken, burgers, dogs, brats, steak if people get them, etc..

Macaroni salads, potato salads, deviled eggs, beans, chips, dips, cookies..

and booze.. yeah.. *G*

 this sounds like it is going to be lots of fun.. i am just so sorry that i could not make it this year but there is always next year to plan for....i know i had fun last year.. mybe next year i will have saved up enough money and will not be in the hospaital again to be able to come...and i am sure by next year i will be back to my old self...i hope that you all have a nice time and lots of fun...(( and no i am not trying to get out of all the ass kickings that is coming *well ok maybe  just one of them.. which HE has not said a word to me about it. and still scares me *))

We're home.  Tired as all get out, missed 1 turn, had a squalling baby for an hour. But otherwise an uneventful trip with one little minor bit of rush hour around Columbus.  But we're home.  Have to unpack the car, catch up on all the stuff that has been posted since we left, then lure should be home in roughly three hours.
