Even that deal hurt more people than it helped.
Yes it helped those, like yourself who just managed to qualify, and that is good.
It did not help the dealerships as most of the vehicles purchased were not from those who were in trouble.
It did not help the small business mechanics who rely on older vehicles in order to make their living.
it did not help those of lesser income who rely on purchasing used cars due to lower income.
It did not help parts distributors whose parts are needed to keep older vehicles running.
It did not help boneyard businesses who resell useable parts to keep vehicles running. They were all crushed.
It did not help all the used car dealerships.
These are just a few of the points of "collateral damage" caused by this great deal. If it were handled better, it would have turned out to be of benefit to all. But as usual poor planning and half assed management of the situation caused more harm than good.
Stupid should hurt, but unfortunately when our Nation's Leaders are stupid WE are the ones that hurt for their stupid.
