Robbie Robertson and the Red Road Ensemble - Skinwalker

I couldn't for the life of me remember where I had heard those words before. It was bugging me for a couple weeks, and then I remembered an obscure cd that I had been given but never listened to much unless I was really sick and needed something really light and smooth to listen to to help me sleep. Music For The Native Americans. Ended up listening to it last weekend while I was in bed with a strained muscle in my neck, and the words jumped out at me.

Yes it most certainly is...

I have been in love with Robbie Robertson's music since he was part of The Band back in the mid 60's to late 70's, but they did reunite from 1983 to 1999, though they were never the same after Richard Manuel died in 1983. When Robbie Robertson began producing Native American music, that is when I fell in love with him all over again and one of these days I would love to see him in concert.

Your turn!

It's in my hands
The sky, so bright
It's burning
It's for me to decide
If flames will reach heaven tonight
It's in my hands.

Drink, drink in the badland, liquid bread for the poor
Another member of the crowd goes down to drown at the liquor store
Choose your escape in the heartland, of products and demand
When you feel like a wasp in the swarm
You gotta get away any way that you can.

Role reversal must be a total drag
But there's no point, no point for me to humblebrag
I appreciate you for being cruel
I'm burning bright thanks to your rejection fuel
Got my in-jokes you won't get
Like Honey Badger, Troll Face and Nyan Cat
So now your ballin' parties seem so dumb
You can Evite me, and I'll say yes, but I won't really come

To all the prom queen bitches thinking they still rule
