Ragnar wanted me to update everyone
After finally getting in to see dr babe, due to the fall at the hospital, He has a concussion, and injury to his neck due to the force of the hit to his head.... they are meeting next week to determine what to do with the leg whether to cast or not. and he is suffering with some internal bleeding in the abdomen that they are hoping will fix itself but will be looking at that too..
So due to the circumstances, Gathering unfortunately will be cancelled this year due to His and woobies health, but they are hoping for next year! i am accepting donations of bubble wrap so i can wrap up both of them!

...I was once left with a little bottle of brandy when I was recovering from my auto accident. I kept it hidden under my pillow...and would take a few sips when the lights were off for the night. I was refusing ALL pain medications...I didn't want to take a chance of getting addicted... ::)

hi Kemma, sorry work has been crazy and have just been on the phone with Him in the evenings
typing for Rags " in tons of pain, working to save the leg, 5 open abscesses and more coming, on new antibiotics to help with the infection"
He is being bad and trying to lance them himself! blood right now is thinner then it should be so its tricky!! his neck and back are still giving him a lot of pain from the fall at the hospital. having issues with blood blister on his access , he see's the surgeon on wed about it.

sorry i have not had a chance to update, my rt has been crazy and have been on the phone with Ragnar in the evenings.. posting an update for Him...
things are not going as well as He wants them to be... still in a lot of pain, and having pain now in His right kidney, blood pressure has been way too low which is very concerning, though the dialysis numbers are still holding above the average...and the infection is healing a bit in His leg, they sent off cultures to test and see what is going on with the infection....
His appetite is no where close to what it should be and energy level ...well it is no where close to being Ragnar level which of course is frustrating the hell out of Him... He has an appointment with Dr Babe next Wednesday but i am annoying the hell out of Him to go to the hospital and not wait but we know how stubborn He is....so am asking for those thoughts and healing vibes ...i know how much He misses you all right now.

Ragnar went to the er, they gave saline as he was dehydrated, his blood sugar levels were way low supposed to be around 100 and his was 60 so they gave him that sugary solution to bring it up...blood pressure is as well on the low side...but they sent him home....mumbles real bad curse words and stuff...
He has an appointment with dr babe on Wednesday so hopefully will get something done then. will update when i talk to him that night. i am on the phone with him now an he is touched by the inquiries and at least i can make him laugh!

another trip back to the ER this morning
Rag's sugars dipped lower then before, and blood pressure went down again.....apt with the DR tomorrow morning, hopefully they can get both regulated and stable. Will post tomorrow evening. sending him to bed early to get some much needed sleep... okay okay i am bribing Him to go to bed early!! grins

Rags is back in the hospital, they are running test trying to figure out what is going on with the kidney..liver and cardiac....so any news i get will pass it along asap....the god news is He is laughing and tormenting the nurses so He is in good fighting spirits!!

He is home from the hospital... they discharged him, but he still has no answers... he has an appointment with dr babe this week again... they gave him a bunch of new meds.. but he is a little out of it right now.... and very weak.. still issues with low blood pressure but maybe he will get some answers from his doc....
If anyone knows Rags they know how strong he is and what a fighter he is.. he never gives up, but right now he is too weak to even get in and out of bed...so he is feeling a little low at the moment... so thoughts and prayers... if You got them...send them! He is always asking about all of You...Kemma He says he misses You too!! I am doing everything i can to make him fight and laugh.. and yes even make him get mad by nagging him!

Just updating that Rag's is back in the hospital, they are doing blood transfusions ... still waiting to hear what all is going on... woobie passed on the info as he was not even up to talking on the phone tonight... god love her she is still in a lot of pain with her back on top of everything else.. they are keeping him over night so hope to have more news tomorrow.... thoughts and prayers go out for both Rags and woobie

This has me all torn up inside and out! Goddamn it all! Find out what's going on with him, keep him in the darn hospital until you find out what's going on, this discharging and readmitting is making their hospital look shabby. If I could, I would be out there right now sitting on the doctors to get to the bottom of WTF is causing this, and no they are not discharging him until they find out. I'm sorry, but I know the system, I worked for Medicare and I happen to know that if this keeps happening, crap is not going to end well for the hospital, nor the hospitalist (the doctor in charge of the patient in the hospital, everyone gets one, as they are the go between hospital and primary care doctors).
Rags keep fighting, I am waiting for the time you and I can sit down and talk on the phone, there's so much I want to discuss with you and I really need to hear your voice again. i got to talk to Rags tonight, he is still in the hospital, they think he has some internal bleeding... like duh this shit was brought up weeks ago and they took a "wait and see" attitude about it.. now he is 2-3 if not more blood transfusions in....he is cold and get warm....they put a scope down his throat...and he thinks they are doing a colonoscopy tomorrow....he is still on iv and pain meds so he is in an out of coherent talk right now.. he thinks he is not going to make it out of this one, but he says he has one more damm fight left in him so he says he is going to give it his all...... still waiting for the results of the tests on his liver and right kidney.....poor woobie is hurting and exhausted... my heart and love goes out to both of them... he was asking after all of You, and thank you for the board posts.. i read them to him every time we talk... and they make him smile so keep it up! i will read till i am hoarse if it makes him smile! any news at all or updates, i will post them as i get them... be patient as some nights he does not have the strength to sit and talk on the phone.

medically - they still have not found any cause for the bleeding and pain,...they are still looking and testing ..red blood cells are down below 6 when should be around 13... dr's gave me medicine to have the shits... then medication to stop the shits! never trust a fart!..what the fuck!! keeping food down is a coin toss
freezing all the time....white blood cells are wonky.... blood pressure is low... even doing radiology tests,.... it is up to the gods and my temper ... I am tired and pissed off and want to tear something or someone apart.

I'd lead your visitors to your Prism, meet the door dash deliveries and secretly order from Drizly for her, make laundry runs, hold the phone to your ear when Prism finally naps and it's time for you to talk to your spi. I'd hum a song in my head so I don't hear a thing, while mind mapping a secret route to the morgue for your victims. Finally, the second you stomach can stand it, I'd sneak in a pastrami sandwich and then be on my way. None of this will come true but I pray my wishes for YOUR recovery does!

YUP! I will always be a pain in the ass, if I stop now then the world is ending and it's time to find a new home on Mars or the Moon. *laughs* It's late that I am writing this, but I need to go to bed (before 3a too) though to be honest I want to go to bed earlier, training is kicking my ass. Working for the epitome of Luxury Retail stores is a big job, when the store sells dresses at $200,000 and candles in a jar start at $85. That's what you get when you shop at Saks Fifth Avenue and there's no way in hell I will be able to afford the clothing, except on clearance or a really good sale, unless I win the lottery, but I love working with people, so I am doing customer service. That's just a small taste of what I have been doing for the past 2 weeks, tomorrow I will post pictures of my resin pieces that I have recently (last month) made.

Ragnar is home from the hospital, still more testing to do, not a whole lot of answers on the internal bleeding.
there is issues with His liver, it is starting to fail, but their still doing more tests.
The pancreas is enlarged which is not good... and He has a lot of pain in the right kidney so there is some issues there... He did dialysis today but could only run for a couple of hours... He has an appointment with dr babe tomorrow so hopefully will have some clearer news... but He is in good spirits... i did my best to have him laughing and even a couple of naughty laughs! but i will keep up with the updates and pass along messages as i get them.

I have news to share with you! It's been such a long road, years, you've listened to me cry and rage against the town school idiots. Well today, dammit, I freaking won...which means my teen won and will have the right tools to succeed. Winning the war after losing too many battles is sweet but the celebration short. My teen gets her tonsils and adenoids out tomorrow. I know, "routine". Mine was, a lifetime ago but both my kids had complications with theirs, so I know what's possible. Getting a little squirrelly from major stressors two days in a row - but you know I'll pull it together. You words remain and continue to guide. Thanks for everything!

Had the apt with Dr Babe, the hospital did not send her a lot of info, she changed some of the meds they gave Him...she is feeling they fucked up a few things so she is going to see about getting him into the Cleveland clinc. She figures it his best bet at this stage....Ragnar in his infinite wisdom decided to go out to mow the lawn and promptly face planted himself as only Ragnar can do... one of the neighbors saw him and came and helped him up and mowed the lawn for him!

still no new , news....just got word from the Cleveland clinic, they are going to take Rags, so now just waiting for dates an times, then we may finally gets some answers!! He had a good dialysis on Tuesday finishing with a 1.45, but he was in too much pain on Thursday to finish the dialysis session...fingers crossed for Saturday!!

*shakes head* I have always been an Ohio State fan, mostly due to the fact that the teams around me were inadequate (UCI, USC (hate with my very being) and UCLA (more a gymnastics fan of theirs)). I wanted to go to school at Ohio State, but other things got in the way. Anyway, I have been busy with training at my new job, though it's work from home, there's a TON of info I have to learn and well we were supposed to be on the floor taking calls 3 weeks ago, but no credentials and no clue when they are coming in. Typing has been painful since Wednesday when I had a chunk of skin, tissue and I think some muscle as well removed when it was found I have/had squamous cell carcinoma. Doc took it out, burned the small bits out and we are hoping he got it all, but in the meantime I have several layers of stitches inside and 9 stitches on the outside. Damn thing is 2 inches long, was only supposed to be 1 inch or slightly larger, but it went a bit more deeper and outward of the original location. Guess I should have gone in sooner.
Anyways, Rags why do you think you can go out and mow the damn yard??? I swear you are going to give those of us around you an ulcer, if you haven't already. STUBBORN ASS! Love you though... I need to go back to cleaning up my new work area, yes, shouldn't be doing this until the stitches come out, but I need the second monitor and carrying it and the chair across the room twice a day yeah, not happening... just moving craft/resin stuff into their storage areas and giving me space to put the 19 inch monitor (it has a sticker on the corner of the monitor that says, works with Windows Vista) and I will be good to go! No more musical chairs/desks every morning & evening (shifts are 11a to 7:30p). I will be around seeing what sort of trouble I can find myself in... which may not be a lot... LoL <3 <3 <3 <3

Well I have a bit of good news that I can't help spreading around to all who need to know... I got the stitches removed this morning and yesterday morning right before I got clocked in for another boring day of training that has gone on too long already, but I got word that I am cancer free! He got it all, so no more surgeries, unless we get another area that looks suspicious. Then it's off to another biopsy, and go with whatever comes my way. This is what happens when you grow up in the 70s and 80s, no sunscreen unless it was baby oil and I mostly burnt with that crap, so went without. It wasn't until the late 80s that they came out with real sunscreen, but by that point it was moot, the damage was done.
I am actually going to bed before it's 2 am, mostly due to the fact that I keep falling asleep at the computer as I am exhausted from being bored to death at work. Still in training, still no certifications for getting on the floor and taking calls, at this point we are more than ready to be doing so, instead we have been trying to help with support, answering questions about certain orders and cases. Seems we are coming up with the right answers more than the level above us. Pretty sure I will more than likely be in that position in a couple months, if not further up the ranks. <3
Take care of yourself, find a damn hospital that is going to fucking treat you, not put a band aid on the problem and shuffle you off to the next doctor. No that shit don't fly, and at this point I would honestly go after these asshole doctors, as apparently they were in the bottom rank in medical school, or got their degree in a Cracker Jack box. At least Doctor Babe has the right idea, these idiots have no clue, nor do they have the brain cells that were gifted to them at birth, or they are using them on other things not related to medical. Hell I probably could do their job better than them, but yeah, doubt they would let me in the door as your doctor while in the hospital. *shrugs* Take your time, heal as you can, and we will be here when you get out and feeling better, perhaps with more of an idea of what the fuck is going on once and for all! I also need you to make fun of me turning 50 years old finally too! <3 Love you Bro! <3

no new, news...except the Cleveland clinic is out for now, there is a three month wait... had an appointment with dr babe and she is sending him for more tests at another town 30 min away, then she will get the results directly, so he is supposed to hear from them in a couple days...fingers crossed....he is still not able to keep food down...and is getting weaker and losing his balance and doing an impersonation of a pinball machine... skin is getting thin so is bruising easily and bleeding..., but will keep an update on any new info as soon as i have it....

Not surprised about the wait for the Cleveland Clinic, as they are in serious high demand, almost as bad as the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I am damn sure the moment that Dr Babe gets the results things will finally get figured out. Seriously don't go back to that medical lawsuit in waiting hospital, they haven't done jack shit for you and I doubt they really care, they will find their comeuppance soon I am sure. I'm disappointed that CC is a no go. We showed at Boston Childrens ER over the summer, with great success. I wish you could have done the same. I know you trust your Dr but I'm growing disillusioned with the Dr Babe. You deserve more! Sounds like she needs a kick in the ass. Your Prism can handle that I'm sure. You get the pleasure of watching from the front row! See, not always bad to delegate, Rags. HINT HINT.
My teen starts school Monday!! I still celebrate this hard fought win, especially since we had to put down her pig last week, the one she used as her go-to coping skill. It was more than a best friend, it was a life saver. Devastated as she was, that girl held/loved her, as she left us to march like the little warrior she was, across that Rainbow Bridge.

He has been getting good number in dialysis, which is a big plus, except he was not able to go today, he is sick and throwing everything up, and well... if i was Him, i would not be trusting a fart just yet! there has been appointments made for some tests and such, once they are done will let everyone know how they went..but i am keeping His spirits up and making Him laugh!
i am sorry did not post sooner, work is keeping me busy and getting ready for the hurricane...got my storm chips and wine! i am ready.

Once I figured out it wasn't infected, and learned what was causing it, I am going to take care of it myself. *laughs* Figures the surgical wound that they took out a chunk of muscle and tissue due to cancer would do this, hasn't failed before. *laughs* Have I mentioned lately I HATE mornings??? Maybe another week of training, then they are going to release us out into the wild and my normal work shifts aren't until after 1p my time. Going to be interesting when we move to Nevada, will be sort of morning, but close enough to afternoon that I won't bitch too loudly. *chuckles*
Take care of yourself, STOP BEING BULL HEADED! Stop giving us all gray hair, but know we worry because we love you, it's not that we are mad or upset with you. I know I just want to hear that you have a definite plan of treatment as they found the source of the problem and that you will be back to what you were doing before the shit hit the fucking fan! Viking axe might actually get the point across both ways, and I am all for that! I know how much he abhors the walker, much less that damn wheelchair, but if he fits the wheelchair with a lawnmower engine, he might be able to run people over better too. Been mostly offline due to work and health issues myself. Had surgery on the arm again seems I have an issue with internal sutures (no one listens to me FUCK!) so surgeon went back in and traced the same route he did last time again, yeah, one smell that I will always remember (burning skin). Samples sent off to pathology to make sure that the cancer really is gone and that this isn't a sneak attack back, as the tests came back clean last time. So now it's a wait and see until that comes in, then have the 11 stitches top side removed and wait for the inside ones to do what they are supposed to do. Though this time, GODDAMNITALLITHURTS! 110% more than last time. Typing is a bitch, so doing it mostly one handed.
If I was close by I would take you to your doctor's appt with the lawn tractor w/the woodchipper with me and I would add the signage that says, for doctors who don't do their jobs. It would fit right in with the holiday today, they would think it was a Trick.. *snickers* They don't know me when pissed, do they... *evil grin*
Going to go take pain meds now that I am off work and perhaps find some relief, if that shit don't work, I will dip into my stash of smokables and use that instead

*slips in looking for an update and whispers softly* no cancer detected, just whatever it was that was caused by the internal stitches, so I am still cancer free. *knocks lightly on wood* Am hoping things are settling or just that someone is too busy dismembering bodies and hiding them so no one finds them until the next ice age (or after). I'm still here, always watching, just lurking for the time due to crazy seasons and homesickness. Can one of us win the lottery? Then we can take Rags to a real doctor and not worry bout costs, then they can find out what the FUCK is going on and fix him like they should have done in the first fucking place. *looks around and sighs* my stress levels over friends who are in pain for no reason, or for good reason yet no one can find out why, and on top of that, stress for family issues. Too much shit is bad for me, probably why I went recluse during that 2 year period, it was safer at that time for anyone who wasn't me. <3 <3 <3

The latest i have from Rags is that he is bleeding more and sleeping more..... dialysis numbers have not been the greatest
and no where near to where i would like to see them. He did go for a test according to him the place he had to go was nasty...dirty and used cups all over the place, very unprofessional.. just waiting from the results of this test to see what's going on with the internal bleeding.... he does not have much energy and is using the wheelchair a lot more, even i am am not getting to talk to him every night now because he is asleep... so anything i get will pass it along asap, promise

Ragnar update
He is now in the cleveland clinc, surgery is scheduled for thursday the 29th, according to Rags there is going to be three teams of surgeons on hand when it happens.
It is admittedly a scary time as they will be removing His pacemaker as they take care of the infection and then putting it back in. He is in a weakened state due to the infection and everything. Wobbie and His sister have been with Him since he got to the clinic, Wobbie is holding up for Him but this is very hard on her... so thoughts and prayers for them both in the following days. This will be a tough holiday season for them both with everything going on.
Kimba, prism is holding up, she is scared, understandably but staying strong for Rags.. and i can even imagine how hard and how much pain she is in with her back and everything.
my thoughts and prayers are all for them both!

Rag's update
The first surgery on thursday went well.... he was pretty out of it thursday night ... but he is doing good.
the next step will be to get the blood clean from infection, once that is done then they will go in and put in a new pacemaker.
wobbie is holding up but she has a long 2.5 hr drive back and forth which is hard on her back and i know all her attention is on Rags. which is rightly so!, any news i get i will pass it along as soon as i can.

This is steps in the right direction. I have candles going for woobie, Rags and now my dad.
Dad's been in hospital for the past couple days due to a bleed in his calf, they went in and removed a Hemangioma and my mom's saying it's 7 1/2" x 4", though am thinking it's cm she is wanting to say, but anyway you look at it, it's big and for my dad this is worrisome. Mom was wanting to let me know that they are using honey to cover the wound, something she was sort of shocked at, but impressed.

i am thrilled to report that as of today, Rags is awake and coherent. He is still on iv antibiotics for the infection in His body and on continual dialysis , He is too weak to walk and has a long way to go even though He is mad at prism because she will not take Him home like right now! ...chuckles...patience is not one of Rags strong suits.... but He is rare fighting form and that will take Him far....
with a little luck i may get to talk to Him tomorrow, so i will update if i do with His thoughts.

i did get the chance to talk with Rags on the phone, He was coherent , but sounding weak, which is understandable...and my heart soared just getting to hear Him say...Tal My beauty!..that tickled me down to my toes, i will not lie
i asked Him how He was feeling, and to be honest with you all, it broke my heart into pieces hearing Him say that He wanted to go home to die, i know He is tired and He has been through so very much, more then most people ever come back from. but i could still hear a bit of that fight in Him when the nurse asked if He was ready for supper and His response was..."is it worth eating?" ...i have not had any news in the past couple of days, i have been testing and calling. but as soon as i hear anything further i will post, i would take on His pain if i could , just to have Him here, and i will make sure He knows of everyone's thoughts and prayers so He knows how much He is loved

Spi, I didn't want any of this to be about me, but I need to preface what I am going to say. When this latest bout of ill-health started for Rags, I sent him a private-message, telling him that I might beat him to heaven, because I had just been diagnosed with advanced throat-cancer. I had chemo and radi at the same time, and the cancer is gone now, but I had alot of misery, and alot of time and motivation to ponder these existential-issues. If I had been in the position of knowing I was not going to get better, I would have ended my suffering while I still had agency-enough to do so, rather than risk getting in a position where I wanted to die, but couldn't. I also have a strong memory, of my great-grandmother, on her 90th-birthday, confiding to me in a private-moment, "Food doesn't taste good any more. I am ready to die." My dad had dementia, and died in a nursing-home, a terrified animal, who they kept alive until he forgot how to swallow, and drowned in his own saliva. When Ragnar says he is ready to go, you need to believe him, because it's him. The last thing he wants to ever be is helpless.

I continue to hope for Ragnar, hope that he will recover and not suffer. But, if the suffering is such that even a man as strong and determined as Ragnar feels its time to let go, then that is something I can totally respect and hope if it happens, that he passes peacefully and with the dignity that he deserves.

Rags was back in icu for a bit, but is now back again to a regular room, He is sitting up now for the first time since december!
He is in prism's words "being His butthead self"
They shaved off his beard for medical procedures and he has lost about 80 lbs
prism is fighting with the dr's because after Rags having a pacemaker for so long, and them removing it because of the infection, they have decided He does not need the pacemaker....so both prism and i are like.. wth, if that is the case then why in their infinite wisdom, put one in the first place...so the fight continues
that is what i have for now, other then keeping after prism to take care of herself as well

Everyday I am thinking about you three, and hoping that everything is going good... i am sorry for the delay in a update, due to Rags schedule at the rehabilitation nursing home, i do not get as many phone calls
and i have been been going through a couple of sick issues myself of late but i am back!
He is doing good, His spirits are much better. He is still having issues with His left arm and right leg not working very well, so hopefully the physio therapy will help with mobility, plus with the sudden large weight loss that means a lot of the muscle mass went so that needs to be rebuilt to improve His movement and strength. but He is determined to get back home and we all know what Rags is like when He makes up His mind on something!
i hope to talk to Him this week to get another update and will post for you Aall

He is back in the hospital with another blood infection, and there is an issue with a high heart rate
with everything He is going through i think the high heart rate is to be expected, sending prayers and thoughts to Him

Not going to lie, there have been times this past week were I have almost picked up the phone to call you Bro to tell you something that I wanted to share with you, but then realized I don't have your number anymore. Due to a dead phone with no access to the touch screen, crappy design if you ask me. So instead, I have written it down for the time we get to talk. You need to keep fighting, as I know you know I can be a stubborn brat and will find a way to reach out to you and poke the bear. Am with Kemma, I miss you, Bro. i got to talk to Rags two wonderfully long calls this week.
He is having good days and bad days, which is understandable, He is out of the hospital and back at the physio-therapy nursing home. They have had him practicing with a electric wheelchair, as he is having mobility issues with one leg and one arm, they have been draining fluid away from his chest which leaves him with some bad cramping. But his spirits are good, he has a adopted one of the aids, he has been a great companion for Rags which he really needed, He has family visiting regularly.
i have passed all the messages to Him, and He is so very touched at the out pouring for prism aka woobie, He will be working to see if he can get online soon... fingers crossed....will keep posted on any changes and any messages He wants to pass...so stay tuned!!

So happy to see this update. Kendra aka Sahara has been asking for updates as well. She's doing well, things are a bit crazy at home right now, but I am in contact with her regularly. I on the other hand has been crazy busy with job training, but will be graduating onto the floor next week for full production. The summer season has kicked in early here in Fargo. We are pretty sure we only had a week of Spring 2 weeks ago, then right into Summer. At least the snow melted in a week, the upper 80s to low 90s helped a bit. LoL Going to be talking to her tomorrow with this update for sure. Just keep getting healthier and I will be waiting for more wonderful updates.

I just found out yesterday. I had last spoken to Ragnar in early October. He had gone into the nursing home, but seemed in good spirits. It is sad to see him go, but now he is with his woobie. We had many happy times together which will bring good memories every time I think of the both of them. He is missed.
