Bridget Martin Diary
===============
February 22, 2007

Dear Diary,
Last night was fantastic, at least for me.

Yes, David Dewher had called me back as promised in my last diary entry and taken me to dinner twice. The second time a few weeks ago I brought him home with me and we finally had sex together. It was delightful and he spent the night in my bed and we had breakfast together. I hoped he would call again after sampling my wears. Sometimes they don't, we all know that.

A full week had passed with no call and I was about to give up on him. Yesterday I was sent out on two murder cases, one where a man was shot in the back of the head in a empty warehouse in Brooklyn, a typical gangland murder.

But the second one was one of those terrible rape and murder scenes in which a very young and attractive victim was strangled to death after the rapist had his way with her. Lt. Chris Meloni was assigned to the case and I did get a short interview with him. He's a nice looking single man and he asked if we could have dinner some night. Since I hadn't heard from David, I said sure and gave Chris my cell phone number.

As I said, last night was fantastic. No I didn't go out with Chris, but when I arrived home my message light was blinking. It was David asking if I was busy. I returned his call, told him I was beat but sure could use some company. He grabbed the next ferry from Staten Island and arrived an hour later and I met him at the Four Seasons. He was chatting with Rachel and I jokingly told her to back off, David was my man. I think he liked that.

I ordered an Orgasm from Gino and David turned that into a clever joke. twenty minutes later we shared a taxi back to my place and I literally raped him. He is sort of shy, but he responded well. The sex was fantastic all night long and once more we shared breakfast together.

Will I still go out with Chris? Probably, because David really hasn't made any commitments, but I really like David. He could be the one. He told me during breakfast that he's now on the Genovese Board of Directors. I know a little about that firm and it drew some concerns, because they also own an escort service. Big Apple Escorts. I hope they aren't offering him free service there.

Dear Diary,
This has been one very exciting week. David Dewher showed up at the CBS TV studio on Tuesday night as planned but we skipped the bar hopping he'd suggested and I took him home to my place instead. I'd had a very busy day and wasn't dressed for the Four Seasons as planned.

My day was filled with two murders, one outside the Cotton Club in Harlem, apparently a drive by shooting and a second one where the body of a drug peddler was found floating in the Hudson River.

I was sitting on my sofa with David playing Tequila Chicken when my pager went off. It was a police officer I'd made friends with tipping me off about a third murder in one day. The SVU team led by Chris Meloni had been called out on a rape and murder scene in the Upper West Side. I told David I had to call my camera man, Billy, to pick me up out front in the CBS van.

David was a bit disappointed because our game was about to get interesting. He said it was too late for the last Staten Island Ferry so he'd just catch a cab to a nearby hotel and get a room. I asked him if he'd like to go with me instead, see what a rape and murder scene might just be like. He agreed heartily and off we went.

The murder scene was in a nearby 2nd floor flat and we were there shortly before Chris Meloni and Olivia Benson arrived accompanied by CSI agent, Jeff Mallard. My friend gave us a quick peek inside the bedroom, then ushered us off as the SVU team showed up. David was a bit stunned seeing this attractive young female sprawled naked all over the bloody bed.

Detective Benson ushered us back out front insisting we should not have been allowed that close to a crime scene. I just told her that we'd picked up the call on our police scanner and arrived just as the police did. I told her we never entered the bedroom and took no pictures. She said they would give us more info as soon as they had properly finished their work.

Chris Meloni did give me a few minutes later as the bagged body was removed. He said the victim was Melissa Marshall, a 20 year old sophomore at Columbia University. Apparently, the rapist had no idea she was a virgin, the cause of all the blood at the scene. He must have strangled her trying to shut her up before any neighbors heard her screams.

Chris said there were serious similarities to several other recent supposed rapes of Columbia students, but they wouldn't know for sure until after the medical examiner had completed his autopsy and Jeff Mallard had finished up examining the murder scene.

It was well after 3:00 AM before we left the scene, so I took David home with me where he slept on the couch. We shared breakfast Wednesday morning together and he promised to call me and arrange another date.

Dear Diary,
I was surprised late last night when David Dewher returned my call. After chatting on the phone for almost an hour, we agreed that he would pick me up at the CBS studios around ten o'clock Tuesday night after I finish taping my short report regarding that missing teen age girl.

I left a pass with the guards so David can get in the news room. We'll be going out for drinks and hopefully, a lot more. He showed some serious interest and we exchanged cell phone numbers so we can reach each other in case work related situations pop up. I can be called out at almost any time since I cover all the crime calls, especially rapes and murders.

Dear Diary,
It's been several weeks since I had that dinner interview with David Dewher, the handsome new councilman on Staten Island. He even insisted on paying the dinner tab, but he at least let me purchase the wine.

He showed some serious interest in me, but I haven't heard from him since. It was the holidays, so I wrote it off to that and decided to call him. I got his answering machine and left a message. Will he call me back? We'll see.

Still no word on the murder of Patrick McGafferty. I guess that will soon be stored away in the cold case files, since the police are obviously moving on to other things. That's a shame since I do like his daughter, Molly.
