With all due respect, Fred...I have been there many times, and understand...
. I have found that grieving for a while is necessary, but healing takes place when you move on, and keep the memory alive. We all know that most animals don't live as long as we do, God must have planned it that way to teach us, there is nothing we humans can do to extend their lives. After I grieved, I would go the animal shelters, and visit the furry ones. Always, one would greet me, and act like it already knew me.
I would pay for the vaccinations and the tags, and bring it home and have another nice relationship...except for one puppy who tore up my drip system...
...never brought home a puppy again. Please take care of yourself, your posts are the most fun I have when I go online. Take a rest, if you feel you need it, and then return when you are ready.
