We, once, had a house built, it was a very nice experience. I would drag the family there every weekend to see how it was going, and do 'salvage'. We would clean the area of wood scraps, and carefully stack them off to the side. We would also pick up any nails and screws that were laying on the ground, I told my H, "Hey, we are paying for all of this". During the 1st winter, we didn't have to buy firewood for our wood stove, and when we built our 'chicken palace', we didn't have to buy any nails or screws.
