This is astonishing...it almost seems like a joke.
My son said that the ribbon for this 'decoration' should be in the shape of an American Flag, folded in a triangle, he said that holding back fire could cost the death of your teammates. He also spoke about the asymetric warfare that is going on in the Middle East. Their 'fighters' disguise themselves as civilians with impunity. I remember when he came home after his first deployment from Iraq, and saw the 'Times' and 'Newsweek' articles. He especially laughed at the photo of a row of Iraqi 'civilians' who were lying in rows of hospital beds. 'Mom', he told me, 'Iraqi men all wear beards, it is part of the culture. Only those in the military are clean shaven, or some wear only mustaches'. I took another look at the photo...all of the angry 'civilians' were clean shaven, although a few did have mustaches.
Assholes...We are doomed. I just wonder what kind of 'Warrior' would accept such a decoration?
