Entry 15
The herd and column made very good progress and have halted in the area of the springs. The stock can water, the barrels can be topped off and botas filled. The grass is outstanding in the area for grazing stock.
Bathing is not only permitted, but encouraged as some of you really smell bad since your last bath in Turia. Soap is prohibited in the springs. Though all our soap is natural, and non-toxic, high levels of it concentrated in the springs could lead to issues with the stock as well as us during consumption. Considering the number of bosk and other stock, and our numbers, it would definitely NOT be a good thing for all to come down with a case of the chocolate gallops. Barrel bathe if more than just rinsing the stink off, or use the tubs some may have. Bear in mind modesty must prevail for FW. Clean your clothing at the same time, or bathe behind a screen.
The Kassar are not to our rear, so The 1st returned to the column during the night leaving the standard rear guard in place. Many of The 1st will be found sleeping. It is recommended not to awaken them unless necessary until it is time to eat and/or move. Most have been without real sleep for many days. We ARE within territory claimed as our own and are nearing our summer encampment area. Cook fires and lights after dark are now permitted provided they remain small.
Game is plentiful, so if time permits any free may harvest game so long as they remain within sight of the column. The game would be a welcomed addition to our migration standards. Bear in mind, where game and water is plentiful, sleen will be also.
Wild plains kailla have been spotted in the area. Those in need of a mount may try their luck so long as they too remain within sight of the column. REMAIN ARMED.
We move again when light. Tend the stock, check all harnesses and rigging, and be sure to grease the axles. We have come too far now to lose a wagon due to oversight or negligence.
