just wanted to let everyone know what is going on with me.....i am having problems seeing..i am looking through a cloud..and i am seeing double..and also..lately i have been having problems with my legs..i think that i am getting the reaslees leg.. thing goine.. which is what happen last night.. i could not sit or move .. laying down did not even help i ended up taking some bentdrail to help me sleep...and of course there is still the back pain..( which i go to the dr friday and hopes she will order an MRI )...so please be paticent with me...i am trying to get all of this fix..if i can..i love all of you..hugs and kisses..

flame is in the hospital with pneumonia. They also found something they didn't like with her EKG, so they are dealing with that too.

flame did not have a good day.
The meds for her pneumonia is doing its job and she is coughing so hard she can't keep anything down. They think she has a heart blockage. She will probably be in the hospital at least through the weekend.

Another flame update:
flame went into respiratory distress during the night and they put her on a ventilator. I got a call this morning asking permission to do a bronchioscopy to look into her lungs and try to suction the gunk out. They did not find as much to suction as they were hoping. Her blood pressure will not stay up without medication, which they tell me is normal. She is now in a medically induced coma to allow her lungs and body to heal.
I'm concerned, to say the least. Please pray and send healing thoughts.

The hospital and staff are doing all they can. Kneemail and thoughts are going. The bases are covered and it is up to you now to fight this shit. YOU WILL FIGHT!!!!!

Another update on My flame:
During the night they were able to lower the ventilator settings. When they tried to turn her over onto her back, her O2 numbers went down, so they had to go back to prone position (on her stomach). As of this evening, no change. Her nurse says she is doing good, considering.....

Another update on flame:
Turned her onto her back again this morning. She was able to stay that way for 4 hrs before her O2 numbers went down too far. Some of the cultures came back. She has Human Metapneumovirus. That means suited up to visit her. The nurses said she will have turned the corner when she can stay on her back and her numbers stay up.

flame has been on her back or side since 9:00 last night - That's 21 Hours!!!
Improvement is slow, but it is happening!

Update again:
When we went to visit her today, she was on her back, though they were turning her to her sides and stomach periodically to prevent bedsores.
They stopped the paralytic drugs this morning about 9 am to begin bringing her out of the induced coma. She is still relying pretty heavily on the ventilator and she is heavily sedated, but at least we are seeing improvement now!

Christmas Day Update:
flame is back on the paralytic drugs that put her into the induced coma. Her breathing was not in sync with the ventilator. They had to turn the setting of the ventilator up a little. They are doing everything they can to keep from turning her back on her stomach.

Update on flame:
When we went to see her this evening, I touched her arm and she opened her eyes. She is still on the ventilator but answered yes and no questions. The nurse said she gave the day nurse hell all day, fighting the restraints and the ventilator. This evening she mouthed to let her go (from the restraints). When he nurse told her she couldn't because they were afraid she would try to pull out the respirator, she told the nurse she didn't give a f$%(%&$. LOL..That's my girl!!!

flame update: Today she saw us in the hall and waved!! She told me she wanted OUT!! They did a CPAP trial today and she stayed without the respirator working for about an hour. If all goes well, they will remove the ventilator tomorrow!

CPAPs aren't bad...I have sleep apnea and use one every night when I go to bed. I use just the nose piece, and it is comforting to have air blowing in, and putting it on signals my body that it is time to sleep.

(my experience was finding the CPAP a huge adjustment, maybe because of my sinus headache and seasonal allegy issues. however, its been years now and i can't imagine ever sleeping without one. mine's a full face mask with the humidifier)

Update:
(flame has used a CPAP for a number of years))
Today ventilator came out. She was hoarse but talking. All IV's are off except her nutrients and her insulin. If she can eat a little tonight and everything stays as it is, she may be moved to a regular room tomorrow. She was watching TV when I got there. Now physical therapy since she's been virtually paralyzed for 2 weeks...

Flame is now in a room. Her voice is stronger, but she tires easily.
The doctor is talking about a short visit to a rehab facility to help her get her strength back. Probably not a bad idea, though we'd rather have her home!!

i am still in the hosp.. had a real good day yesterday.. this one has not started 0ut that good.. but talk to thepery and drs nurse s..about going to rebhab... 2 to 3 weeks topes and i should be back home.. i want to thank you all for the thoughts and kinda words..i still have a long way ahead of me.. but with everyones help i can do this..
