New Camp Layout
« on: August 09, 2007, 05:44:28 PM »
here's the scoop about our new camp!

The river is approximately a day from the main fire, a couple hours from the outer perimeter of camp, 's for water's edge are basically going to put you at one of the springs unless you want to be a day from camp, so keep that in mind.

Water for consumption or other uses are drawn from the fresh water springs...laundry will be done in tubs, one to wash, one to rinse.

Water needing to be discarded will be poured into barrels...the barrels will be taken by wagon outside the camp and dumped on the plains

Drinks are still being cooled in the springs near the commissary area.

just a reminder to our newer members that the cooling wagons are not in use.  The weather is still too warm.  cold drinks are kept in nets....meat is used as quickly as possible with the remainder dried to make jerky...some perishables are wrapped in oilskin and put in the cold springs.

noted and thnak You Mistress
..you can not grasp it.
You can  only touch the  fire and be seared by it,  even destroyed  in it's embrace, but never can you hold it, not for a heartbeat.

There are cold springs located throughout the camp. The river is a good day's journey on foot, round trip, from the main fire.

The bosk have been broken down into their smaller herds and are daily rotated about the camp and the plains allowing for access to water supplies and to avoid any stampede or raid from ever taking more than a few at a time in comparison to the whole.

The routine for discarding waste water remains unchanged.

Bring the cooling wagons back into good order for use.
