Michael MacDougal Courts abby

The garden picnic with abby went well, just as I expected, but the feel of prying eyes bothered me a tad.  I decided t' leave the garden and offered a stop at the Iron Lance on the way back to abby's cottage.

She hesitated because we had already consumed the nice bottle of wine I'd brought along while enjoying her picnic basket. But with a little effort and a nice kiss or two, she conceded , saying one more glass of wine couldn't hurt.

I didn't want her falling down drunk, just a little happy and offering less resistance. I ordered a nice bottle of a blush wine for a change from Isleen. After a few glasses, abby said it was after midnight and she had best get home.

Upon arriving at their cottage, I caught a glimpse of a shadow moving inside which meant that her mother, kate, was at home and still awake. That limited my hopes, but I did usher abby around the side of the cottage where we did have a little privacy.

The kisses grew hotter and her mouth opened inviting my tongue. It took very little effort to expose one breast and she was soon panting heavily. There was no way I could complete my conquest out there under the light of a bright summer moon, but it certainly was promising for the future.

I finally escorted her to the door and kissed her goodnight there. I walked the short distance to the East Village stables where I'd left my horse, mounted up and road home with a smile on my face. Soon abby would be mine.

Last night was everything I expected. kate, of course, spent the evening at the Iron  Lance, quietly sitting in a corner watching the events and games at Devona's open house. I can only imagine her rolling her eyes as her daughter, lava, danced with her veils, gradually stripping to tease both the males and females present.

I talked abby into missing this event, because with everybody at the Lance, her cottage was vacant. I brought the wine and she offered her body, dancing with veils for me alone to savor. A marvelous evening of tease and reward. She turned out to be everything a man could hope for, a wild vixen in bed. I did use the sheepskin, since I hope to marry her before we mutually decide on the children that might eventually unite our two families. Plus, Kyle might kill me if I just knock her up.

It was a shame I couldn't stay and spend the whole night because we expected her mum to return after midnight. But I left abby satisfied, happy, and agreeing to spend next weekend with me alone in Hollywell for their Spring Festival.

Thursday night was a real shocker.  Michael MacDougal walked in the MacLaaran Great Hall with his arm wrapped around abby's waist. That in itself was minor. The real shock was his announcement that they had gotten married last week up in Hollywell while attending that Spring Festival.

Michael said he hoped that we would accept this as an opportunity to meld the families together and end the long feud between us and the MacDougals. I tried my best to remain calm, asking him if his two brothers, Douglas and Mitchell, where aware of this situation.

Michael said we were the first to be notified. Even abby and lava;s mom, kate, had not been told, but they wanted our blessing first. Michael also requested my permission to erect a new cottage just north of the MacLaaran Loch, since the location would be on MacLaaran land. I said that I would discuss that with the council, but I assumed it would be approved.

We traded a few hugs and lava asked abby when they planned to talk to kate. Michael said they were heading there next to break the news.

My real concern here is regarding Douglas MacDougal's reaction since I know damn well he's never been happy with us purchasing the MacLaaran lands. I'll be waiting anxiously for the results there. We  certainly don't need another nasty scene like the one that took place years ago when Robert MacLaaran was murdered by the MacDougals for requesting Sara MacDougla;s hand.

Michael assured me that everything would be fine with Douglas, something that set of an alarm bell in my brain!

On Thursday night, abby and I found kate in their cottage and I broke the news that abby and I had been married up in the Hollywell abbey. I know she wasn't happy that she hadn't been properly informed, nor invited, but surprisingly she was pleased that abby was finally married. Since it was late, I spent the night in abby's bedroom.

On Friday morning we shared breakfast at lava's Coffee Shoppe, then abby and I headed out to the ranch to tell Douglas and Mitchell. Douglas was obviously thrilled and hardly able to contain his emotions as he hugged abby. Mitchell gave her a big hug and a kiss also, but abby did have to remove his hand from her ass.

We were invited to live there at the ranch house until I could get the new cottage down by the loch built.

Thrilled with the rapid marriage between Michael and abby MacDougal, I sent off a message to Lady Gerhild Dunstan requesting a private meeting at the Iron Lance next week. My plans were indeed coming to fruition. We couldn't move instantly, of course, but we definitely could start making plans.

[post for Gerhild NPC]

Sitting in her bedchambers in Castle MacLaaran, her fingers tapping on the desk, a huge grin on her face as the news of the wedding between abby and Michael was spreading like wild fire. Chuckling to herself, thinking at one of the MacDougals men must has got all the charm. One of her men, dressed in rich fabric raps on the door and enters. Moving up to her and leaning down he whispers the message that Douglas MacLougal wanted to meet her at the Lance. Nodding she sends him off, agreeing to the meeting. Both happy that the plan was moving on, for their little act was becoming draining, and they wanted to action. Hearing the Guard practice all day and into the evening made them all  anxious. Slip up, she ponders how her little ladies day would go, hearing gossip from the wedding night. Plans start to form in her mind, and she decide to go for a little stroll around the castle grounds.

It was Thursday evening and Lady Gerhild showed up at the ranch house per my request, dressed up to kill, in oh so many ways. What a sexy female I thought as her servant removed her cloak and she took a seat near the fireplace declining my offer for a drink.

We got right to the point. I told her I'd want four, strong, capable men dressed up as her guards available when the time came to strike.

She came up with what I considered an excellent idea. She would try and befriend lava and coax her into making an overnight trip to the Hollywell Faire next month. That way with the aid of her guards, they can abduct lava during the faire, drag her off in the woods, have their way with her which I'm sure they will enjoy, and slit her throat. She needs to be left where she'll be easily found, but assumed to have been raped and murdered by road bandits

With that accomplished, Michael and abby would inherit her fortune, and with Michael as her husband he would be in total control.

The next item on our list would be Kyle, not as easy but certainly doable. Once he was  removed, using lava's fortune, we could take the major control of MacLaaran and all the surrounding lands.

Since Lady Gerhild was supposedly trying to purchase a portion of the MacDougal lands, there were plenty of reasons for our various meetings.

With Kyle's permission, we cleared an area just north of the MacLaaran Loch over that last week and with Mitchell's help we're building a rock foundation for the new cottage. I am letting abby request certain things she wants, like a nursery.  She says at the rate we’re going, it may not belong before there's a child in our future. A MacDougal with a little kate heritage in it.

Although, my older brother has more sordid plans there, I hope abby and I can finally get that long term feud put to rest

With six of us working long hours daily, the cottage is finished and we've moved in. There is still some outdoor work for me to finish but that can wait. The large circular portion was the hardest to complete and get under roof, but the weather held up for us. The rectangular portion extends out to the west and the eventual patio there will provide a wonderful view of the loch. There are two paths, one to the MacDougal farm that we used to haul all the required materials in and a second quite short one down to the loch.

The new bed is very comfortable and abby insisted we give it a spin the first night…… and no more sheepskins, we plan to let nature take it's course. I understand now why Kyle changed Anna Hampton's name to lava. abby is certainly a wild one in bed, everything I expected and more.

We're inviting everybody in the area to a house warming on Sunday, June 29th. We're determined to get the many families here pulling together to make MacLaaran an even better  and safer place to live.

*As the date for the house warming approaches, abby becomes more and more nervous. The joining of these families is going to be no easy task. She hopes that Kyle and others from MacLaaran will be friendlier to Michael. She doesn't expect too much friendliness from Michael's brothers because they are such a surly lot, but hopefully with time, everyone will relax about the marriage and accept it. Perhaps she can soon announce that she is with child, and then everyone will HAVE to accept it...won't they? She finally stops daydreaming about perfect happy endings and baby booties and returns to the task at hand...planning the menu for Sunday night.*

Makes her way over to abby and Michael's cottage, setting down the basket of baked goods before their door...

Pouts a little as she re-reads her note before placing it in the basket

"Dear Michael and abby,

I will unfortunately be unable to attend your housewarming, but please enjoy some homemade treats I've baked especially for you two. I hope you have a wonderful time Sunday and all my best.

Sincerely,
Megana"

I found Megana's buns at the front door as I headed out to work on the path down to the loch. I smiled and took them back inside where I left them on the scullery counter for abby to find when she finally wakes up. She likes to sleep in after another late night of "Let's Make a Baby"

We'll have to thank Megana when she returns from her trip.

:o :o :o ~Prae nodded as the village child related the tale and gave him the usual reward of two pence before sending him on his way.  Calling out to Caitlin to "hold the presses" whilst he pondered this latest development, Prae briefly considered what, if any, further research was needed to find out just why it was that Megana's buns had been found at the front door of Michael & abbey's cottage.  Had this had anything to do perhaps with Megana being a model for the latest of Serenitee's clothing designs for the summer or was this in fact, the work of one Tristram of the Castle MacLaaran guard, who may have simply had his fun and tossed those buns aside so he could catch a nap after some vigorous exercise.....

*rising from bed after sleeping in too late, i take one of  Michael's shirts that is hanging on the bedpost, wrap it around my nakedness and patter into the cozy kitchen where i find Megana’s famous buns ((*snickers*.. :D)) and read her note. i frown slightly after learning that she won’t be able to attend our house warming.

i was counting on her to keep Sir Tristram busy so he wouldn’t spend the evening staring and frowning at Michael and his brothers. Plus, Megana is a lot of fun to have at a party! Shrugging my shoulders and thinking how sweet it was of her to leave the basket of goodies, I wrap it up and place it on the shelf and set about to finish my preparations.

Michael and i agreed that this will not be a sit down dinner, but instead we will keep the front door open and leave the various snacks and drinks available on the table, and encourage guests to mingle outside where Michael has been busy hanging lanterns and candle holders. There will also be festive ribbons tied around the doorway and hanging from nearby trees…creating a little enchanting area just outside the cottage. lava will be stopping by in a few hours to help me plant some lovely flowers around the cottage. Hopefully she won’t swoop in and try to take over the preparations, as i am doing quite well on my own and am pleased with how everything is turning out. Now…if those men will just behave themselves tomorrow night, it will be a wonderful occasion!*

On Thursday night Michael MacDougal showed up at the castle great hall looking for lava and Me. He was there to announce that abby is with child and he's hoping for a boy next March.

Life changes rapidly, doesn't it? A few months ago the MacDouglas were always feuding with us over the simplest things, like property lines, hunting in the forest, and who really deserved to own the MacLaaran lands. Will things change for the better now that our families are sort of joined? We'll see, but Michael sure seems to think so.

I personally still do not trust his older brother, Douglas, but we at least need to give this a chance.

Since abby is now a little over three months pregnant, feeling pretty good and  working part time at vlava's coffee shoppe, I should be in a good mood.

Michael is working with his brothers to improve our relationship with the MacDougals. as he said he would, but why do I still have this deep concern regarding Douglas?

Maybe it's just all the years I've spent barely keeping peace between the two families. I know Douglas hates the fact that our group now owns all of MacLaaran except their ranch.

I bumped into him the other day in the Velvet Hammer when I stopped in for an ale and a few words with Tris. He sat at a corner table with his brothers and those narrow beady eyes of his certainly were not what I call friendly. I made it a point to walk over and pass the time of day. Both Michael and Mitchel seemed quite happy and friendly, but Douglas was just as surly and grumpy as ever.

I told Tris about my concerns, and we agreed to keep an eye on Dougles.
