in my need for a desktop computer, I have found a much cheeper solution!
I have stolen my bf's computer!! -dances- its not like he was every using it -rofl- and I even got a shiny new version of Vista Ultimate
yeah I know I could have gone with wondows seven [comp needed a new OS cause the xp on it was corrupt] but vista ended up costing me like 40 bucks out the door!
am I the only person on the planet who likes vista?
I will be in the room as soon as I can get used to typing on this keyboard- its huge compared to my pretty little laptop keys!

I like Vista and I have used 7, Vista is a good version it just dumbs everything down.. asks you if it has permission to do everything... think windows xp crayola style and thats windows Vista... its not bad, i have learned to take alot of the options out of the system so that it runs smoother and runs more like XP.. the only downfall.. IE is the only browser other than chrome i will use and well chrome really sucks.. so enjoy figuring it out..
but if i had my choice i would upgrade to seven in a heartbeat

like he said, Vista isn't too bad...it just treats you like a retarded kindergardener. though as far as browsers go...i've never had a problem with Opera and would recommend it hands down as your defult with Vista over IE in a heartbeat~ :o

kidding! I mean it was an easy choice, windows 7 is like 300 bucks... while I got this version of vista for like 50... it turns out now that my bf over looked the sticker right on the side of the comp that had his code for XP- so I might have been able to just upgrade, in fact im thinking about doing just that when I can get the money to do it.
and yeah Opera aint bad- I perfer IE but there are a few FF frendly sites that I use Opera for

When we get my desktop up and running I will be adding Windows 7, am so skipping Vista due to the reports I have gotten from my dad (who had worked in the computer industry for over 20 years) and my nephew... Besides, I don't have to pay for Windows 7, as both of them were given copies to give to family members, as a thank you for beta testing the operating system... They both did the same thing for Vista and XP

That is one thing I have to relearn, as it's been nearly 6 years since I have run Linux, well Red Hat.. Loved it, but was sad when I had to leave it behind when upgrading, as I had no access to the new version at the time, so it was Win98SE :(

I think it was salem that told me about all the pros and cons, and I figure if im gonna do that I might as run my computer from DOS
