Something interesting I wanted to share...today in Toronto, we have record-breaking heat. It was recorded at 38.3 degrees celcius on August 25th, 1948. We've gone over that by just a little bit. It's a scorcher. With the humidity at 42%, it feels like 49 degrees celcius. Proper conversion for you American types...100 degrees fahrenheit, feels like 120 degrees fahrenheit. If you're somewhere where it's nice and cool today, I envy you. Five fans and a cool shower with a liter of water drank every hour isn't helping me out much !

We got up to 97 degrees Fahrenheit, with a heat index of 109 degrees Fahrenheit. Tomorrow we are looking at breaking huge records with a high of 101 with heat indexes around 120+, the following day, just as bad. Though they are saying it should break by Monday, when they (The Weather Channel) are reporting a high of maybe 81 degrees.
Another worry going through many people's minds are we going to have another 3/4 of the U.S. power outage, like what happened back in 2003, am hoping to goodness that it doesn't happen, for if it does, Ray and I are in TROUBLE. Between both of us having asthma and migraines, we are also dealing with air quality action days, going outside for either of us until this heat breaks, is a big no no.
To everyone who is in this horrid heat wave, stay inside and stay cool. We could all move to Seattle who until this coming Saturday, hasn't spent more than 67 minutes over 80 degrees this entire summer season, then again, the moment we get there, the heat wave will start. ~snorts and heads out to get some more ice to munch on~

99 degrees at the official weather site at the airport.. heat index 115......had a late afternoon thunderstorm build and burst through town with 74 mph winds. there are downed lines... broken trees everywhere..... and we have the same forcast for tomorrow.... i haven't been able to go out except to attend to the dogs in short bursts... with the hay and wheat having been cut.... the dust alone has created massive issues.

Hot enough to give me heat exhaustion yesterday. Not something I would advise for anyone, especially when the first aid booth is on the other side of the fairgrounds.

Yeah, well, weather like that isn't exactly par for the course in Ontario. Understandable that far south. Not really used to that degree of heat here.
