I'm off to Delaware tomorrow morning, bright and early. Dad arrived with the horse trailer last night, around 10:30, and it's almost 100% loaded. Only the washer and dryer remain -- and I have to finish my laundry first! Now, the cleaning must commence and the computer must be packed away.
Hopefully I'll be back online, with a high speed cable, in a couple of weeks. Once my Mom's computer is fixed, I'll be able to connect bia her dial-up and leave messages here and there.
I'll have a job interview for a teaching position on the 29th, my first full day in the state. Hopefully I can remain awake for it!
And Delaware is supposed to be hit with Hurricane Katrina this coming Wednesday. I can't tell you how thrilled that makes me. WOO!
Love you guys! Wish me an uneventful trip down!

Good luck my a-s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~hugs you tight~

~laughs insanely~ YAAAAAA!!!! Moving closing for me to get to you.... now just have to find the vehicle that WON'T break down in the middle of the road trip... ~laughs insanely again and then just smiles softly~
Good luck in your uneventful trip... and I have this feeling you will be wide eyed and bushy tailed for that interview... Knock their socks off, deeeeeeeeeeemon... Love you

I arrived safe on Monday, though it took 17 hours what with congestion, road construction, traffic jams due to car accidents -- you name it! After 5 hours of sleep, I went to my interview; I think I did well, considering my exhaustion. I'll know whether or not I was chosen by Tuesday of next week... which is also when the cable company is coming out to survey my grandfather's home. Hopefully we CAN get cable TV and internet. If so, I should be up and flying by the end of next week... Until then, I'll be checking the net as I can on my mother's creeping-slow dial-up...
Unpacking is going slowly and allergies have hit me hard... but kiddo is loving school, and hubby is eager to commence a job search...
Love you guys! See you as soon as possible... Hope everyone is safe from Hurricane Katrina!

Apparently my cable modem will not be installed until the end of NEXT week, if not the beginning of week after next. The cable company will actually have to dig a trench to lay the cable line, since cable has never been installed in this old farmhouse. That bumped the estimated date of installation back from two days to ten... ~massive grumble~
Still no word back on the job for which I interviewed... Still don't have all those boxes unpacked -- not that I NEED all of the stuff in all of those boxes... Cooler weather is coming, and I'll do it then...
Aaaand... that's about the size of things at the moment!

Another little update...
Okay, I lied... It's a BIG update... *grinning*
Hubby is now employed at the nylon plant just down the road, and his orientation will be this coming Monday and Tuesday. He'll be doing shift work, which means that he'll work seven days from 7 am - 4 pm, have two days off, work seven days from 4 p.m. - midnight, have two days off, work seven days from midnight - 8 a.m., have four days off -- and start the whole confusing schedule over. It'll be a bit hectic, but a local job at $9 per hour is a Godsend.
And I am now the newest English teacher at a prestigious public high school near Dover, Delaware. *beaming* It's the highest-ranked school in the state, and its classroom technology is cutting edge. I'll be teaching 9th and 11th graders this year; and, if invited to teach next year, my 9th graders will become my 10th graders. My orientation is also this coming Monday, and my first official day of teaching will likely be Tuesday.
I should also have my cable TV and internet installed on Monday or Tuesday. The cable is coiled by the light pole, the tiny trench is dug across the front yard, and now we await the actual CONNECTING of the wires. Progress comes at a turtle's pace in Slower Lower Delaware.
Things are looking up for me, my family... Once things settle down, I hope to be a more permanent fixture in camp, especially since hubby's schedule will leave my nights -- and the computer -- free for half the month. Love you guys!
