my new thread for NFL shit..or.."what the hell you thinkin?"
Sanchez signed a three-year extension with the Jets....wtf ever
Sanchez will get $20.5 million guaranteed compared to $17.75 million of non-guaranteed money over the next two years.
It's a "measly" raise of $2.75 million..... wtf ever
The rest of the deal is non-guaranteed, meaning the Jets can cut ties whenever they like.
hahahaha

Saints' 'bounty' program exposed
New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis failed to stop his team's "bounty" program after it was brought to his attention twice in the past two seasons.
Coach Sean Payton tried to deter an NFL investigation into the "bounty" scandal in 2010 by telling staffers to "get your ducks in a row," when notified that league security was in New Orleans to interview team employees.
While former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is the central figure in the scandal -- 22 to 27 players also have been implicated
No timetable has been set for punishment to be handed down, however, it is believed that it is coming sooner rather than later so the Saints and the Rams (in Williams' case) can re-organize their coaching staffs and rosters as needed.
-
Then Sanchez better nut up and perform or those ties will certainly be severed.
Uh oh... Saints may be returning to the "Ain'ts" again.

WTF!?! Vincent Jackson went to the Bucs for a 5 year contract for $55.55 million? That puts the Chargers in the worst place possible, because we lost Dielman at the beginning of the month and it's starting to look like we are going to lose McNeil due to a neck injury last season. If this isn't proof that A.J. Smith needs to be replaced, then I have no idea what does. Actually both Smith and Turner need to get their pink slips.
-
He went with the big money..they all do...
hope he doesn't get pissed at Freeman as the QB,,whoa
looks like i will be retiring my Benson 32 jersey this season..
that makes 2 jersey's in 2 years I have had to retire..
who should I go with next? hmmm..git to make my mind up before training camp.

The Steelers have tendered offers to wide receiver Mike Wallace, cornerback Keenan Lewis, safety Ryan Mundy, tight end David Johnson, offensive guard Doug Legursky and offensive guard Ramon Foster.
This gives the Steelers the right to keep these guy by matching any offer sheets they would sign with another team or staying with the Steelers by signing their tender offer for 2012 or by signing a long-term contract with the team. If not... they go.
-
we need line men...corner backs...we need..we need..ah hell

I thought this was pretty interesting....
$100 million club kiss of death
When Calvin Johnson signed his eight-year, $132 million contract with Detroit, the Lions star wideout became the eleventh NFL player to earn a deal north of $100 million.
Those introspective nights slow-cooking Ramen noodles? Totally over for Megatron.
The guaranteed dough alone remains outrageous, but even if descendants of the Manning family won't punch a timecard for another 1,000 years, there's a deadly catch: Not one of these $100 million deals have been completed.
Age, injury and sideshow drama have taken a bitter toll.
Larry Fitzgerald ($128.5M over eight years), Eli Manning ($106.9M over seven) and Ben Roethlisberger ($102M over eight) are still entrenched in their mega-pacts and appear to be worth every penny.
But what about that nine-year, $118.75 million deal Carson Palmer signed with the Bengals in 2005?
"Hopefully this is the last place I'll end up playing," Palmer said after inking it. "That's so rare in this league these days. It's so rare to see a person have a five-, eight-, 10-, 12-year career in one place. And I feel very fortunate that it looks like that's going to be my future."
Not so fast, big guy.
And Palmer's not alone. The $100M Club is a booby trap, scattered with cautionary tales and broken dreams.
Travel with us into the abyss:
1. Albert Haynesworth
Cantankerous, enigmatic and not immune to bouts of road rage, Big Al Haynesworth turned out to be one of the most expensive errors in Redskins history. Acquiring the behemoth for a cool $100 million over seven years -- with $40 million guaranteed -- Washington hoped the defensive tackle would operate as a holy terror unleashed on quarterbacks league-wide.
Instead, his brief stay in our nation's capital was a drama-heavy debacle, remembered less for sacks and more for the 10 days he required to execute a conditioning test in 2010's training camp. He passed it, finally, but failed woefully on the field. He was traded to the Patriots before the 2011 campaign, but earned a pink slip soon after. His pockets? Still brimming with the $41 million he stole from the 'Skins.
2. Drew Bledsoe
Unlike Haynesworth, Drew Bledsoe didn't take the money and run.
The unquestioned leader of the Patriots, Bledsoe's 10-year, $103 million deal in March 2001 came just in time for a head-on collision with fate in the form of Jets linebacker Mo Lewis. Mo's bone-crushing hit on Bledsoe in Week 2 of the 2001 season sent the veteran QB to the sideline. What would New England do?
In marched a guy you might be familiar with -- Tom Brady -- sending Bledsoe's Pats career up in smoke. Less than a year later, Drew was under center for the Buffalo Bills and that unwieldy contract? Restructured in 2004.
3. Daunte Culpepper
In some alternate universe, our friend Daunte Culpepper enters 2012 as a dangerous component of the Minnesota Vikings, a man in the final season of the wild 10-year, $102 million deal he signed way back in May 2003.
In this world, Culpepper was most recently hailed as the pride and joy of the Sacramento Mountain Lions, the UFL franchise he toiled for in 2010, far from the bright lights.
It wasn't always this bleak. Early on, Culpepper made money the old-fashioned way: He earned it, throwing for a 2004 best 4,717 passing yards. Then the unraveling: One very ill-advised evening on a Lake Minnetonka pleasure boat, his 2006 trade to Miami, and a feverish string of injuries and dead-to-the-world outings that sent Culpepper into the books.
4. Michael Vick
Talk about second chances. Vick holds the distinction of being the only player in NFL history to sign two $100 million contracts.
The first one (a 10-year, $130 million deal with the Falcons in 2004) ended in disaster, with Vick free-falling out of the league to serve a prison sentence on federal dogfighting charges.
Upon his release, Andy Reid and the Eagles took a chance, patiently waiting for Vick to regain his sea legs. They were richly rewarded with Vick's astonishing 2010 season. In return: the six-year, $100 million deal he signed with the Eagles in 2011.
5. Brett Favre
Shortly after signing his 10-year, $101.5 million contract with Green Bay in 2001, the one-and-only Favre had this to say:
"I do want to be a Packer for life. I couldn't envision myself playing with another team -- don't want to. If that was to ever come up, I probably would just retire. I've made enough money to where I don't need to jump ship and go somewhere else. It was just important to me to stay here."
Totally credible.

The story goes like this: after racking up a $739.58 (with tip included) Peyton Manning tips the server an extra $200.00. After being tipped an extra two-hundy the server took a picture of the bill and posted it online, where it was discovered by several news outlets. After it was discovered by several news outlets, the server was fired.
“This goes against every policy we have,” said Van Eure, owner of the Angus Barn. “It’s just horrible.”
I rather see a picture on Manning ripping into a steak with steak sauce on his chin..lol

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have officially cut ties with Albert Haynesworth. The former All-Pro defensive tackle is out of a job, and it seems unlikely that anyone would be in the market for a lazy, overweight, whiny prima donna.
WTF took them so long? lol

Watch him be the next addition wearing Bengals colors or Browns.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf was arrested Friday in his Montana hometown of Great Falls on burglary and drug possession charges, police said.
BUSTED
JaMarcus Russell was bad, but who tops our list of the biggest draft bust in NFL history?
The circumstances surrounding Leaf's arrest were not immediately clear. Great Falls Police Sgt. Dean Bennett, who confirmed Leaf's arrest, said Friday night that he had not seen a report detailing the allegations against the ex-football player.
Leaf was booked on felony charges of burglary of a residence and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, plus a first-time charge of misdemeanor theft, Cascade County Detention Center Officer Robert Rivera said.
Leaf was freed on $76,000 bond and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday.
Leaf, a former standout quarterback for Washington State, was the No. 2 pick in the 1998 draft behind Peyton Manning. But Leaf flamed out as quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, gaining a reputation as one of the biggest busts in NFL history.

Am shocked over this arrest..

It's gotten worse...
==================================
HELENA, Mont. (AP)—Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf was arrested again Monday, just days after he posted bail on similar charges that he burglarized a home and stole prescription drugs, authorities said.
Leaf was first arrested on Friday after police found oxycodone pills in his golf bag that an acquaintance later said Leaf stole from his home. Then early Monday, three days after posting a $76,000 bond, he was arrested again on accusations that he broke into another home outside Great Falls, Central Montana Drug Task Force Commander Chris Hickman said.
The owners walked into the home Sunday afternoon to find a “tall man with an athletic build” inside, Hickman said. The man told the owners he had the wrong address and left.
The owners later discovered three bottles of prescription medication missing and phoned police. After describing his truck, his clothes and his “shiny black loafers,” they picked Leaf out of a photo lineup.
A search of Leaf’s home turned up 89 hydrocodone pills loose in the pocket of a bathrobe. Authorities do not believe those were the same pills that were taken from the burgled home, Hickman said.
“We don’t know if he disposed of them or if he has a hiding place where he stores these things,” Hickman said.
Police were seeking a warrant for the GPS in Leaf’s pickup truck for information that will link Leaf to the two burgled homes and possibly lead them to a stash of stolen prescription pills, Hickman said.
More people have come forward with claims of stolen painkillers since Leaf’s Friday arrest, though the task force has not yet investigated those claims. Data from the GPS may also lead police to additional homes where prescription medication has been stolen, Hickman said.
Hickman and other members of the task force arrested Leaf at his home just after midnight.
“When I advised him that he was going to be charged with another count of burglary for the events that occurred, he didn’t show any surprise—and he didn’t make any confessions or admissions,” Hickman said.
Leaf appeared by video from the Cascade County Detention Center in his initial court appearance in Great Falls on Monday afternoon on two felony counts of burglary, two felony counts of criminal possession of a dangerous drug, two misdemeanor counts of theft and a probation violation.
He will remain in jail until Wednesday as his probation supervisors decide whether to release him again on bond or revoke the suspended sentence he was given in Texas in 2010, the Great Falls Tribune reported.
Leaf’s attorney, Ken Olsen, did not immediately respond to a call for comment. A call to Leaf’s publicist was not returned Monday.
The probation violation is related to a plea agreement Leaf made in Texas after being accused in 2009 of burglarizing a player’s home while he was a quarterbacks coach for Division II West Texas A&M. An investigation turned up that Leaf had obtained nearly 1,000 pain pills from area pharmacies in an eight-month span.
His plea agreement gave him 10 years of probation. Randall County District Attorney James Farren said he planned to file a motion Monday to revoke Leaf’s probation.
Farren said the Texas judge in that case could set a hearing date, extradite Leaf for the hearing and then return Leaf to Montana for the proceedings in that state.
“Our argument will be that he should go to prison,” Farren said.
Leaf arrest’s on Friday was the result of a monthlong investigation that started with a tip that Leaf had been receiving small, rattling c.o.d. packages at the post office worth $500 or more once or twice a week.
A search of Leaf and his pickup truck turned up 28 oxycodone pills, a narcotic for which Leaf does not have a prescription, Hickman said. The label on an empty prescription bottle also found in Leaf’s golf bag was made out to an acquaintance, who told police that Leaf entered his house without permission on Thursday and stole the bottle, which contained about 15 pills.
Hickman said police don’t know where the other 13 pills came from.
Hickman said authorities believe Leaf may have broken into other homes over the past 1 1/2 years in search of prescription drugs and is asking those victims to come forward.
Leaf has not returned calls or text messages seeking comment and a message left at his parents’ phone number was not returned. He released a statement through his publicist after his first arrest on Friday that says he has “made some mistakes and have no excuses” but that he is “confident that there will be further understanding when the facts are revealed.”
Leaf, a former standout quarterback for Washington State, was the No. 2 pick in the 1998 draft behind Peyton Manning. But Leaf flamed out as quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, gaining a reputation as one of the biggest busts in NFL history
Last year, Leaf had surgery to remove a benign tumor from his brain stem and later underwent additional radiation treatments.
On March 21, Leaf told an Associated Press reporter in an email exchange that he had struggled through treatments and had an MRI scheduled for the end of the month, but “I’m doing/feeling much better and am excited for the rest of 2012.”

Forget being a top five quarterback, Joe Flacco believes he’s the best quarterback in the league
Joe Flacco is knee deep in contract negations with the Baltimore Ravens so he and his agent are busy trying to convince you and the Ravens that Flacco is deserving of a substantial contract.
The madness began when Flacco’s agent, Joe Linta decided to fix his mouth and utter “Joe Flacco” and “top five quarterback” in the same sentence.
We all laughed and disregarded the comment as just an agent trying to get the most money for his quarterback. Because there was just no way that Linta or even Flacco believed that Flacco was really a top five quarterback.
But alas, we were wrong.
So wrong that not only does Joe Flacco believe he’s a top five quarterback, he believes that he’s the best quarterback in the league. And said as much in an interview with WNST in Baltimore.
I almost peed myself....laughing
-
I am with you on that, there is no way in hell he's the top 5 quarterback or even the best quarterback in the league... Someone needs to knock a few ego points off his head, but then again, when looking at him and the Ravens, he's one of a small group of people that are helping keep that team afloat. If he was the best quarterback, then they would have been in the super bowl and that didn't happen did it... If I am not mistaken, wasn't it on his head that they screwed their chances in the playoffs...
-
Better test him for brain damage. Obviously his eggs are scrambled.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in jail and three years' probation on a drug-related charge.
A judge in Covington reduced the jail time from the 60 days recommended by prosecutors in their plea agreement with Simpson, now a free agent after four seasons with the Bengals.
Simpson pleaded guilty March 1 to the felony charge resulting from about 2 pounds of marijuana shipped to his northern Kentucky home in September. He was indicted on a felony charge of marijuana trafficking, but the plea agreement changed the charge to a prohibited act relating to controlled substances, also a felony.
now we wait for discipline from the NFL. haha..fricking idjit
free agent now...Im thinking he wont be picked up this season now...unless it is with the Bengals again.

Now we have Wade Davis..... who spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks, never actually made a 53-man roster, but he is making a big impact in life after football. The former defensive back recently revealed that he is gay. He said that he knew he was gay while trying to make an NFL roster and while playing in NFL Europe, but he was afraid that admitting it would hurt his chances of playing in the league. Thanks to his current work with young LGBTQ people, however, Davis has finally decided to come out to the world and embrace his lifestyle publicly.
((Okay..great for him.....))
Davis didn't come out during his playing career, but he should still serve as an inspiration to current NFL players who may be hiding their homosexuality. Knowing that there has been a gay player like Davis in the league before figures to be a comforting notion for some. Davis' fears are likely the same as current players who are living under a guise, but now those players have somebody to relate to.
For the past couple of years, it has been said that a player in a major sports league would reveal that he is openly gay one day. Thanks to Davis, that day may be approaching in the NFL. Considering the fact that there are 32 teams in the league and 53 players on every team, statistics alone suggest that there must be some gay players in the NFL.
WTF!
Davis did not speak up about being gay in the NFL until he was no longer in the NFL.
So why all of a sudden is the urge to "out" the gay players...if there is any?
If they do not not want to tell they are gay....THEN SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT IT.
PLAY FOOTBALL
