Tuchuk has completed an early winter migration and has settled upon excellent grassland with The Point located just under 23 pasang to our Ror (Northeast). A small tributary river is located just outside of camp that is perhaps a quarter pasang wide unless swollen by heavy rains or runoff, and just over waist deep at its deepest center. None will be able to cross it with any speed worth mentioning, but the bottom is predominantly firm river rock with patches of sand and sediment atop hard packed ground. As far as crossings go, fine for wagons under normal conditions if the obvious routes on the banks are taken... easy sloping ground of the same composition as the bottom. The main crossing intended for use will have six Or assigned there to station to assist should anything arise... two Or on duty at all times... one fully armed heavy and one less heavilly armed for speed and water necessities. THIS WOULD BE A FINE FIRST COMMAND for any newer Warrior interested.
Stock should be watered, and all bathing done in the easy current will be done Versus Var (South) of our crossing as I am certain can be explained by experienced members of our home. Drinks using the water do tend to taste much better above our crossing when free of bathing runoff, stock discharge, and personal waste products. Keep this in mind.
It is reported to be good fishing, though types and size have yet to be confirmed.
Migration overall went well with very minimal losses to life and property.
We are the first to have migrated and have obtained the choicest lands available within the traditional Tuchuk area. Game is abundant for hunting but DO NOT move outside of our patrol routes.There have been reported, fine groupings of tabuk and tumit sharing our bosks grasses. When hunting these... DO NOT loose any projectile weaponry within the bosk herds. Cut the game from the bosk before gathering. As whenever there is good water and abundant game there will be preditors! Keep a sharp eye for wild sleen and their dens concealed by the lush tall grasses!
In addition to the above mentioned, there is also a larger than usual herd of kailiak and a pair of mature black larls moving about a wide range.
Oralumen... inspect your Warriors and graciously retire those Men whose age and building numbers of wounds and injuries make it difficult for full active duty. All selected will be sent to our medical personnel for final disposition. Those still fit enough will be assigned to our reserve Oralu's and those determined no longer able to serve in that capacity will be retired to family life and awarded a bosk calf come the season from the various camp herds, and a gold tarn from the camp treasury. Bull or heffer will be given based upon availabilty. All Men in camp bearing less than two facial Scars will render a salute to these Elder Warriors in passing. They have earned it regardless of rank when retired.
The weather is grand. Warm during the light and when the sun goes down it can become chilly. Thus far normal rainfall but we all know from past experience that these conditions can and do change quickly upon our plains.
(We will use our 2010 camp maps for winter as well as the matching lot assignments for that year so we may gradually settle in and get back to our camp life and I can ease back in to make corrections and updates as our family becomes reunited.)
