This Week's Gossip
It was ugly and cold last Sunday morning, but I managed to slip into warm sweats and a ski mask to run with Rachel in Central Park. After standing in the shower under hot water for as long as possible to warm up, I got dressed and met her downstairs in the Palm Court for brunch.
Rachel passed along a lot of information on the fashion magazines. She'll be in quite a few with her latest L'eggs ad and my underwear ads will appear in both InStyle and Vogue. It turns out that Tammi Hanlin will also appear in InStyle, both in the hair section and the panty section. Tammi said she was thrilled because she didn't even expect to make the cuts.
Diego and Mike Miller joined us for bunch and this time Mike insisted on picking up the tab. We all went over to Diego's to watch the Giants beat that Eagles on his huge plasma TV. This time Jay Feely made the game winning field goal in overtime. Thank God, because I swear Diego might have broken something if Feely missed another field goal.
On Monday I attended a trial as Judge Helen Gamble sentenced six men to ten years in prison for attempting to plant a bomb that was designed to kill our mayor, Michael Bloomberg. Luckily, the NYPD caught them before they could actually plant that briefcase bomb in the city council room. Mike Miller is happy they prevented it, since he would have been sitting there at the conference table.
Wednesday night I attended Rachel's Friends play as planned. It was funny as usual, especially Adele playing Dr. Richard Burke. She's a kick. I was a little disappointed when Bruce Wolinski failed to show up. I wonder where he's been and what kind of trouble he's been getting into. Wink, wink!
I really enjoyed my massage under Jason Maloney on Thursday afternoon. He was in a terrific mood and his hands are amazing. Enough said. Ladies, you need to try Jason, he's definitely worth the $100 fee.
Saturday afternoon I rode over to the Meadowlands with Diego to watch the New York Giants play the Kansas City Chiefs with Rachel and Mike Miller. Once again, Tiki Barber was terrific, scoring twice as the Giants beat Kansas City, 27-17. The heater wasn't working in Diego's luxury box though and we damn near froze to death.
After the game we headed back to Manhattan and Diego's Four Season Club. Brandy Manilow was singing there Saturday night and she introduced us to Michael Barton, a rock musician from Britain. He said he was planning on being in New York City long enough to record an album before he went on tour with his band. I said I'd like to hear him in person some night and he hopped up on stage between Brandy's sets and sang us a song.
Diego wound up hiring Michael and his band for next Tuesday night at the Four. As we were getting ready to leave, Brandy started her set and Michael cleverly joined her in a duet. They looked cute together up there.
Entertainment
This Wednesday night, December 21st at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's game of "Have You Ever…..?" No plays will be offered until January due to the holiday season.
I also suggest that if you're free on Tuesday night, stop by the Four Seasons and give Michael Barton a listen.
