I went for my second dr visit today, and had my first ultrasound!!! I have one lil junior kickin around vigorously inside me, fortunately small enough that I'm not feeling all that kicking... yet... *chuckles* My doc is very pleased at how active it is, and how well developed it's looking. But I'm tellin ya... seeing that lil one kicking like that... was very emotional.. I cried. *smile*

That is soooo awesome! Now, you said "lil junior." Does that mean they saw a pee-pee, too? ;D ;D
-
that's wonderful to hear ~huggles as she rubs her eyes~
-
*grins big and waits for Mistress to come unglued the first time she feels like there are goldfish swimming in her tummy*
-
woobs... I'm waiting till the one of the cats are asleep on my tummy and junior kicks... making them jump 3 feet in the air... *eg*
and dee, no... it's way too soon to know what sex junior is.. but I like junior better than calling it Igor... or baby, or whatever.... *lol* altho... it DOES look like an Igor right now....
-
Congrats... Even though I do not know how it feals to have something living inside me I do know how it feals seeing your chyld for the first time and it is a wonderfull fealing... ~toughens up and acts like he doesn't have emotions~

My first used to kick my toy poodle off of my stomach..just wait when it moves at the sound of Daddy's voice.
-
If you need something to call the critter, my friend used to just refer to her unborn one as "Cletus the Fetus" before knowing the gender ;D
I only knew the gender of one of the three since I had an amnio with him... but even on the ultrasound around that time (18 weeks) there was a definate, um, pointer.
-
congratulations Mistress..

we couldn't see anything from the ultrasound with the girl because she kept her legs crossed the entire time, Husband said it had to be a girl because his boy would be showing everyone... flash forward two years later at boys ultrasound and sure enough, had legs spread wide flashing his thing at every angle.

Here is my advice ..being able to actually watch your child be born is the most awsome experience you can ever have, the best way to achieve this is GET an EPIDURAL then have them put a mirror in place so you can watch, you wont feel any pain and subsequently will be ABLE to witness the entire birth. God bless the birth of your child Sis.
-
Congrats Sis... I pray that you carry full term and healthy and feel for whomever is there for the cravings at midnight... like arby's or potatoe salad.... and has painful as natural birth is... pray for it compared to C-Section.... believe me... I few hours of pain is better then a few weeks of not even being able to sit up right without it feeling like someone is trying to rip you open from the inside... *nods* lots

Adding to what Mistress Sati said...
I didn't watch any of mine being born (though with my first the midwife did offer me a mirror, and had me reach down to feel her head as she was crowning... it was such a positive energy thing I had my parents and my sisters and her partner in the room...) but do NOT let anyone try to BS you into thinking if you get an epidural you're doing something bad. Its a proven safety record and you can put your energy into the birth. With that same birth they let the epidural wear off during the actual birthing stage, there are just so many options.
Personally, I think they should offer the epi around the beginning of the third trimester. :P
-
*laffs* oh no fear there... I was already planning on getting the epidural no matter what!!! I have seen the rooms at the hospital here and they are gorgeous!! It's one of those hospitals where the pre, birth, and post is all done in the same room and the room is like a suite.. very nice! I'll get a better idea of how it all works when I go for my birthing classes in July.
My feeling is, I could handle the pain of a tattoo without any outside help, but squeezing a watermelon out thru something the size of a grapefruit is just a lil different! *lol* HUbby is expecting me to ask for drugs. *chuckles* I'm hoping that just the epi will be enough. Only way I'm getting a C section is if, like my brother, junior is a breach.
And please don't tell me that the third trimester is that bad!!! *chuckles* I'm already having enough problems with having to get up to use the washroom 3 times a night! *lol*

~ ponders some evil third trimester stories~
No, really. i loved being pregnant, even with number three when i was sick forever and he decided to carry so low that i waddled like an overweight duck (note: two girls, then the boy was the pain. Should be a hint! ;) ) First trimester... tired and potty every five minutes, in the second body is adjusting and feel absolutely fantastic and you start feeling that flutter, third by the end you really are getting impatient (ie GET OUT RENT IS OVERDUE!) but its just amazing. Am so happy to hear of things going so well so far. :)
