This Week's Gossip
It was brisk and sunny Sunday morning and I took advantage of being in bed early last night to hurry over and meet Rachel in Central Park for our morning run. We shared her place near the park to shower, change clothes and stop at St. Patrick's for mass before heading to the Palm Court in the Plaza Hotel for brunch.
I sat in the back row with Bridget Martin on Tuesday when Judge Helen Gamble sentenced Tom Bradley to life in prison with no opportunities now for parole for his recent murder of Big Apple Escorts' female, Fanny Janssen. She was such a pretty woman, one I'd personally met several times in the Carnegie Hill Spa.
Rachel's Wednesday night play had to be cancelled when five of her actors and actresses experienced problems in reaching the Off-Broadway theater. She said that play will move back three weeks to March 15th.
This week New York Times editor, Art Fisher, introduced me to Hollie Mead, the newest addition to our staff of front page reporters. She drew the task of covering these terrible attacks by the infamous person known as The Carver. The third attack in under two weeks happened on Thursday, right here on the 5th floor of the Plaza Hotel. I had a chance to meet with Hollie again on Friday night at the Four Seasons Club bar.
The amazing thing was the fact that we were accompanied there at the bar by those two sterling plastic surgeons, Sean McNamara and Christian Troy, that are involved in the Carver situation. Sean strikes me as the nice guy type, while Christian is the more flamboyant. He and Hollie bantered back and forth, the obvious sparks telling me there was more than just an interview that had gone between these two earlier in the day.
On Saturday night I joined Rachel at the Four Seasons to watch Gloria Estefan sing. She's an amazing talent and I really enjoyed the evening. Jason Maloney showed up, saying he'd heard that Gloria would be there and he invited me to dance during all of her songs. We were rapidly joined by Sean McNamara and his new girlfriend, Delinda. The place was packed, of course, but I did see Ed Deline escort Rachel out on the dance floor.
Jason invited me over to his place where I had to borrow his computer to dash this column off in time to meet the Sunday morning edition deadline .

This Wednesday night, March 1st at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Will & Grace - The Buying Game. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
