WOW!!!
i am really unsure where to even begin.
the Gathering continues to grow and improve. the kinks keep getting ironed out and it just seems to rush by entirely too fast. it seems it just gets started and it is time to go.
there is a great deal of work put into the Gathering but it is the people who attend that make it a success each year. from those who arrived early to assist getting it ready... to those who assist with the cooking, organising, policing the area to keep it tidy... to those who bartend and set up all the feasting items for the picnic... to those who did the shopping and ice-runs and resupplying... the thankless and highly dangerous job of door pounding each morning to awaken the masses... those who assist in making ready for the games by filling balloons, making announcements, assisting those present with attaching ballons and such... to everyone for maintaining the secrets and mystery of "Fear Factor" so it remains a matter of intrigue and suspense for those new to the Gathering each year... to those who rise up early monday morning and surprise me with a loaded truck... to the fine Woman who owns the Motel for allowing us to get away with all that we do there... to those who keep the spirit of the Gathering alive and well right up until the next Gathering begins... the list goes on and on.
but the greatest thanks goes to each and every person who attended and gave of themselves to one another. that is what the Gathering is all about. good friends.... good people... all coming together and sharing of themselves with one another. you may naught know everyone when you first arrive... but by the time you leave you are certainly family.
Special thanks to Buddha for maintaining WEBMAZE giving us all the opportunity to come to know one another and to continue to keep the spirit alive and well.
with each Gathering comes a new sense of family. new friendships made... existing friendships renewed and strengthened. it is a time of learning, sharing, and camaraderie that simply can naught be described in mere words. it is a feeling shared and enjoyed by all.
it is maintained through incredible heat... shark attacks... screams of fear and targetting during the games. flickering lights during storms... racing for food... numb facial features and even ending up being the brunt of jokes and laughter that even the victim must laugh at is but a few parts of the magic that takes place.
simply put... it is incredible to say the least.
my sincerest appreciation and deepest thanks to all who were able to attend.
as for next year...
