Ok, I am Almost positive that this has been discussed before, BUT I do not think some of the newer Members ever had the opportunity to participate in such a discussion.
Now, as the Topic so states, Summer Time in Tuchuk, Our Ubar has the Temp up there,... now, I am guess the weather would be somewhat like the mid west Maybe? Humidity to a Degree
The Idea of Cooler Clothing, now I know what the Pages say, but all of Us always have ideas, an would probably work to a degree,... Now Me I made an old pair of Leathers into Shorts for the weather, cuz like Me RT Shukan gets hot easily by the weather, 45 degree's is perfect LOL
Now I suppose this topic can go anywhere, I'm not limiting it to clothing and what have You, would just like to hear some ideas for making the Summer time in Tuchuk, hrm More enjoyable (I stretch that word out an use it lightly lol)
or at least, bearable to say the least
everyone take this thread an run with it! let the ideas flow, -plops down an lounges getting ready to listen to some ideas people have-

hmmm had some ideas.. then had a vision of Masters in shorts.. well that went out the window fast.. *grinning*..
there is the option of usin a form of thinner leathers.. still viable for use while ridding but lighter for hotter weather.. and wellllllll.. if it is for Mistresses then if still using long covers they could switch to a sorta a cotton blend found in the citys.. much colours and of course does breath well for slaves *grin*.. nekid is best but to be respectfull of Free Women.. feather tops and bottoms.. *grin*..
i have some pics i found on the net will try to up load them some where an post the addy here for all to see.. of what i speak of.. if that would be ok of course

*ponders a few moments* I beleive if I remember correctly...Wagon FW's also wore sleeveless light leather vests in the summer...no blouse underneath.....and shorter leather skirts....that actually showed off some leg *chuckels and waggles a brow* if I am wrong...please correct Me...but I do think there is a quote I read that supports that.

((edits to add the quote actually from the Camp pages.((Thanks dee!))...and Yes i knwo it said She was different.....but....think of How Many of the Women in MTC actually do ride a Kaiila astride.....I don't think that would be possible in a full skirt *chuckles* and full leather pants chaff in the summer heat!))

gets rid of my kalmak...the leather chatka is so brief it really doens't add much to the heat, but could always just get rid of that too....*wiggles brows*

hrmmmm...well with all the heat, and limited water. it would seem that perhaps weaving a few largish hand fans would be a good idea. if nothing else to have a few npc thralls or slaves fanning the Free as They gather, to help create a bit of a breeze. just a thought........

walks down the catwalk in her new thin leather halterneck bra with nipple peep holes, the new summer chatka is shortened by quite a bit and now justs covers the crease of ass and top of leg, twirling round she pinches nipples so they stand up like large rose buds within the holes, hehehehehehehehe ;D ;D ;D

well naked is alwayyyyyyyyys good but another idea would be to rig a rope from one side of the river to the other so that all could bath in the moving stream without getting carried away from the current!!!! a good way to stay cool and have a little fun too!!!!! :)

You know...I mentioned something to Ragnar about the short skirts...and He said ABSOLUTELY NOT. Which kinda sucks, cause I won't wear any skirts unless they show some leg, so it looks like I'll be boiling in leathers for the length of the summer...since I do sit astride when riding.

as the heat grows in the camp, i would not only would the Masters be sheading their tunics and such, but the slaves would also be losing their leathers, no matter how skimpy they are, they would still be way to hot for us to be doing chores and such in,

*laffs at Amber cuz I've always worn pants...* hard to hunt and do Furrier work in a skirt.... I only wear skirts for major important events... like when Ubar and Kar got FC'd.... *lol* wearing leathers isnt' so bad.... you get used to it after awhile.

I tend to wear lighter *think verr or veal (or whatever a young bosk is called)* leather pants in the summertime, along with a loose-knit cotton tunic and sandals.
But then, Darkling is always overheated....danged lack of snow and ice for the Hunchuk.

Leathers always leathers... once in awhile You will per chance see Me in a dress but it had better be for a dangg good reason... and I wear vest.... So misses the summers in Axe Glacier, I soo dont like the heat ... ~ grins~ I still have ermmm forest wear lol

Honestly for the men in the group, running without tunics on may feel better at the time, but in the long run under these conditions it is not healthy. I would suggest a light tunic of fabric, to soak up the sweat and yet still keep the skin cool. Too much evaporation from your sweat pores will cause faster dehydration. To the sad looks from the slaves, sorry, but health is paramount during the summer.
I wear a silk shirt during the heat, soaks up the sweat yet still keeps the skin damp and dries faster than a cotton or wool type tunic and is lighter so any breeze will keep the skin cool.
Men, keep this in mind. And yes, I do know what silk signifies on a man.

If conditions continue, I would be more than happy to instruct the weavers in the making of burnooses....just a thought ;)
