This Week's Gossip
The island of Manhattan is a cozy village populated by more than seven million fascinating individuals, who all behave like they own the place. But lately, it seems the entire city has been magically reduced to only two people, Anne Heche and me.
Anne joined Rachel and me for brunch at the Palm Court restaurant in the Plaza Hotel and offered to pick up the tab, but I didn't let her insisting it was my treat. After all, she was my treat on Saturday night.
I stepped in to replace Alice as Charlotte in Rachel's Tuesday night Sex and the City play. Eric was there in place of Tim, too. We had a very nice time.
I attended both the arraignment and the trial of Charlie Black, the Columbia University student that's accused of committing several rapes in the Manhattan area. The trial was delayed when Judge Helen Gamble called both Diane Neal and Nelle Porter into her chambers after Diane objected to a question regarding the concerns that Audrey might be facing a drug rape situation at the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity party.
My inside sources say it's all about Allison Dubois' psychic dreams, which apparently led to the police getting involved in that party to protect Audrey and catch the supposed rapist. It's going to be interesting to see how this trial works out.
The weather has been bitterly cold with sleet, ice and snow all week. The airlines have suffered some serious delays and some flights have actually been cancelled. I understand that several planes sat on the runways for over nine hours. Ouch, that has to test your bladder.
With the weather that bad, I'm spending the weekend at Diego's where we're watching the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament. Diego and I each filled out a bracket sheet and the loser each weekend has to do whatever the winner chooses. I have a slight edge right now and I think my cute little comments about "getting beaten by a female" are gnawing at his ego. Insert little giggle here.
Entertainment
This Tuesday night, March 20th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Seinfeld - Male Un-bonding. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom.
