This Week's Gossip
Last Sunday morning Stella Stevens woke me up with a breakfast tray. She gave me one of those looks, saying Diego had been up for hours and was already working in his office. I just gave her one of my laughs, enjoyed the orange juice and Belgian waffle with strawberries, and called Rachel to tell her I wouldn't make our walk in Central Park. We agreed to meet at the Palm Court for brunch after church.

Diego had taken me to dinner and dancing at the Coco Cabana last night and then brought me to his place to enjoy a nightcap and a nice roll in the hay. It's amazing how such a big, powerful man can also be so sweet at times.

I finally got up, showered, dressed and joined Diego in his limo where Furio drove us downtown to St. Patrick's  for late mass. Rachel was there too, so we all rode back to the Plaza hotel together. The major subject was the FBI arrest of sixty-two members of the Gambino family. They were variously being charged with everything from murder, to loan sharking and worst of all to drug dealing, a crime that most of the other Sicilians avoid like the plague.

Rachel was moody since Jon Bon Jovi was off again on a very long tour. She did say she might fly to Europe to join him for a week during his loop over there. I changed the conversation to Barbara Barton and what I believe is leading to trouble. She's been spending way too many late hours at the Four Seasons Supper Club lately, dancing with Seamus Clark and Carl Cameron. She claims she's just helping them get their romance novels published, but I think there is more there than meets the eye.

I did attend Rachel's Sex and the City play on Tuesday night with Joe Black and we enjoyed the humor and rapid clothing changes. Mike Miller and Samantha Emeris were a kick and a half that night while Rachel as Carrie, wound up dating Tim as Joe, the baseball player. Did he score that night? I think so, I know Joe Black did.

I need to set up an interview with Carly Carpenter, the Vogue editor that was recently handed the Bronx council seat. Diego seems quite pleased with her and gave her the vacant seat on his Genovese Enterprises board of directors. I think she just might do well there. She certainly has a good head for business.

Saturday night Ben Bravio took me out for dinner and a movie, and this time we enjoyed our nightcap at my place. He's such an enjoyable man, both in and out of the sack!

Entertainment
This Tuesday night, February 19th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be dark as Rachel continues to run her plays on alternate weeks.
