What's Happening!! - 2/24/08

This Week's Gossip
Manhattan. For millions of our forefathers, the gateway to hope, opportunity and happiness beyond their wildest dreams. Today that hope is still alive. It's called the latest date. On Saturday night every restaurant in lower Manhattan resembles it's own little Ellis Island, hordes of single women crowded into a hot cramped space, hoping to make to their final destination, a man that's interested in her, at least for that night!

Last week I spent Saturday evening with Ben Bravio again. And as I said last week, he's such an enjoyable man, both in and out of the sack! I woke up Sunday morning laying there beside him, pleased with my choice, knowing we aren't really taking things seriously, just enjoying life.

I left him there to rush off for my Sunday morning walk in Central Park with my best friend, Rachel Tatellio. We caught up on last week's news. With Jon gone, she spent the walk grilling me on last week's affairs with Joe Black and Ben. I guess I do love teasing her when she' not getting any. I jokingly offered her a little girly girly stuff, but she just laughed and declined.

After our normal brunch at the Palm Court, and with the weather turning into heavy rain, I settled down with a glass of Kendall-Jackson chardonnay to read my recently purchased copy of Seamus Clark's romance novel, "A New York City Bar".

What a delightful book, ladies. The second chapter where Patrick O'Neil shares a taxi home with Jennifer Alston and impulsively she invites him up to her second floor Westside apartment had me squirming around in my recliner. Well written mutual seduction and a marvelously described sex scene that ends awkwardly, and quite humorously, when they lose the condom. Buy yourself a copy ladies and I guarantee you'll satisfy yourself before reading on. If Seamus is anywhere as good as he writes, I know why a certain unnamed lady probably spent the night with him.

Sure enough, there she was in the Four Seasons Supper Club again, Barbara Barton, sitting there chatting with Rachel when I arrived. I sat down next to Rachel and requested the same wine she was drinking. Barbara ordered an Orgasm, flirting with Gino in the process. Katie Donovan joined us minutes later, four females and no men except Gino working behind the bar.

Katie quietly asked me if Furio was still dating that doctor, Natalie Palermo. I said that I wasn't real sure. I only see Furio in the limo and he never says a word other then hello Ms. Davis.

Katie responded with one word, "Drats!" I said that I think Furio is a monogamous type and I sure don't fit his idea of a decent woman. Katie just smirked saying, "Because women aren't really allowed to have healthy sex drives."

I asked Katie if she liked Furio. She said, "Well.. he'd be a safe date to get back into the swing of things again." I smiled, "I guess that might be it, he's old Sicilian through an through. Diego can date who he pleases, but I'm supposed to be at Diego's beck and call...….. in Furio's eyes, anyway."

"Men are the boss... women are chattel... Kinda macho piggish, " Katie responded, referring to the Sicilian way of thinking. I'm pleased that Diego Farina is the new modern Sicilian, and we have a mutual understanding that works for us.

Meanwhile, Barbara was complaining about her husband, Bradley, being  off to Boston for a weekend conference regarding publishing, when THE man walked in. He was tall, dark and handsome, and I could see right away the change in Barbara's attitude.

Barb introduced us to Carl Cameron, another romance novelist. It wasn't long before she had Carl out there on the dance floor with her. Katie and I were laughing at Barb's obvious attempts to drag Carl of on her own. Miss Lonely, wanted company and Carl looked quite ready to fulfill her needs.

It wasn't long before Barbara downed her second Orgasm and dragged off Carl to accompany her home. As they walked out the door I said, "Okay, now there goes a girl with only one thing on her mind............ getting laid....... not that I'm jealous or anything."

Katie just laughed asking if Barbara could have been any more obvious? I answered with, "Very obvious...... I wonder how long it will be before her hubby finds out what she' up to."

Rachel smirked saying, "Not long if Bradley reads your column."

I told Katie I would check on Furio's current status and get back to her, then rushed out in time to hear Barbara give the taxi driver her address, 110 East 78th street. I used my cell phone to contact my paparazzi source. She was available and I gave her the address. With a little luck, I soon might have some very compromising photos.

I saw Katie at the play in Creative Arts Theatre last night sitting with Furio!
Gee, that was fast. I'll be watching to see who shows up in the Four Seasons Wednesday night for dinner. Will it be Furio or some other hot guy?
