Title: My new Perfume
Post by: Amber on March 11, 2008, 09:40:57 PM
I have this wonderful new perfume. It's called A&D.
Kiddo has had a really bad diaper rash since Friday. I smell like this stuff. My clothes smell like this stuff. My kid smells like this stuff. Poor baby and his chapped butt.
On the other hand, I have had my Mother from Florida up here since Friday, so she has helped out a bunch. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are alive and doing well, but I still haven't found a groove to be online and keep track of the kiddo and what is going on. Hopefully that comes soon, I am tired of not having a groove.
Love you all.

better yet...... Balmex and the medicated baby powder that has a cornstarch base... its easier to get off than A & D ointment.. its more soothing....
Both Items are easily found in baby section near the pharmacy at your local walmart.. if not....... Walgreens or CVS will have.... as does RiteAide

I found that most butt medications stung kidlet's bottom if her rash had gotten to the point of bleeding... which hers often does immediately... very sensitive skin she has. So I started just using walmart brand triple antibiotic ointment, which is cheaper than neosporin, but works just as well. My doc got to see one of her rashes one time, and agreed that since hers immediately starts bleeding, the ointment was the way to go.
Your heart just goes out to them, when even just cleaning them with a wipe makes them scream in pain... but the moment I'd put that ointment on her, she's stop crying, so in my mind, that's good stuffs!

Lil A&D is a diaper rash ointment that is really good for burns and other things too. It has a very distinctive smell. It doesn't smell horrible, but it's equivalent to Bengay in how distinctive it smells -lol-
His diaper rash is completely and totally gone. He stopped screaming when we changed his diaper the day after we started using the A&D. And I am very glad my mother swears by this stuff, because it worked. Now we put a little dollop on him at every diaper change to prevent this stuff from coming back. Poor baby WAS bleeding, and screaming bloody murder. I hope to never go through this ever again, it ripped my heart out to hear him scream.
But at any rate. My momma left today and I cried and cried and cried, then my Dad and Step Mom showed up -makes a face- So it'll be at least Sunday until I have some time online again without feeling as though I am neglecting my guests..but I am also returning to work sometime this next week. Not sure what day exactly or how many shifts I will have, but I am gonna try to pick up shifts so we can have some cash.
Love you all.

if a lil advice is welcomed from a misfit here
put some flour and cornstarch into a fry pan......scorch it, but not burn it...will smell like over cooked popcorn. after it cools, put it in a shaker and use that on his bottom.
thats what I did 10 yrs ago with my son when he had a rash so bad he cried when he sat down (he was about 7 mos old)
it actually worked within a day and a half
