I spent this morning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with their director, Charlotte York. She confirmed rumors that she has indeed worked out a deal with the new owner of the Fancy Vivid Blue diamond ring, a ring now valued at over eight million dollars.

Charlotte plans to show the ring in the museum during the month of June and she claims that security in the jewelry section on the second floor which is already exceptional, will be increased during the ring's stay. I asked her if she can tell us who the secret new owner is, but she declined saying the owner still wants to maintain his privacy.

On Wednesday night, using the search warrant that Nelle Porter obtained based on the lead from Lindsay Davis, the photos we now have of Vicki Jenkins during the night of the robbery, and the statements received from the two guards on duty that night, I took Jeff Mallard with me to search Ms. Jenkins' Four Season Hotel room.

We picked up Phil Shepard, a hotel security guard, in the lobby and head up to Ms. Jenkins room. We were surprised to find her modeling intimate lingerie for a Richard Sawyer and, believe it or not, wearing the Fancy Vivid Blue diamond on her finger.

After reading her Miranda rights, I cuffed her and took her in to the 5th precinct while Jeff and his CSI team searched the room. She was booked, finger printed and tucked back in a cell for the night.

Instead of a lawyer, she actually called her design firm people in Los Angeles, bragging about the great free advertising this might net them. I guess she expects them to find her a lawyer.

Last night Lt. Joe Friday of the NYPD Robbery/Homicide Division arrested Ms. Vicki Jenkins and recovered the stolen Fancy Vivid Blue diamond that was stolen from the Metropolitan  Museum of Art last week.

In his Thursday morning press conference, Lt. Friday said that it was a tip that led to this arrest. Apparently, somebody managed to get photographs of Ms. Jenkins hastily leaving the museum right after the theft. The two guards on duty also provided a description of Ms. Jenkins as the woman that created all the confusion when the diamond disappeared.

That led to our NYC District Attorney, Nelle Porter, obtaining a search warrant from Judge Helen Gamble to search Ms. Jenkins' 5th floor hotel room at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Lt. Friday and CSI agent Jeff Mallard, conducting the search, stumbled right into what was no doubt a sexual affair. Ms. Jenkins was already down to her personal "Elite" designer type underwear with a man licking his lips in anticipation. The good news was she was actually wearing the stolen Vivid Blue so it was recovered on the spot. That will certainly make museum director, Charlotte York happy.

Although the police didn't identify the gentleman toying with Ms. Jenkins, I was able to come up with his name, Richard Sawyer, a local New York City agent that represents actors, actresses and models.

Ms. Jenkins hasn't selected a lawyer yet, to the best of our knowledge, and she will be arraigned today and charged with robbery before Judge Helen Gamble.
