okay, whomever she's ticked off enough to send all these thunderstorms her way, she is sorry. 3 severe ones in 7 hours, the first waking her and making her hurry up to make coffee in case they lost electricity, the next sending them to the basement, the 3rd sending two police, two firetrucks and one ambulance to a house seven house up her street -no fire so not sure what happened but do know it was the closest strike she has ever witnessed, she heard a weird electric shock/zap sound as it hit and they flew downstairs. after they came up they could smell that pungent electric burning smell (think computer mouse on fire). now have warning out for storm number 4. did she mention she is afraid of thunderstorms?..*whimper/laugh*..for those how love storms, you're missing a great time......soon to be kookoo kiah

you must have got the ones that were here last week.
i have a job that lets me work from home, onlinem
save when the wind blows and the thunder booms
and the power goes out..
lat week was a wowser.. the sky got that brassy color
that usual means it's time to high tail it to the storm cellar
'cept.. this close to Washington DC.. the ground is still
kinda soggy ( Geroge's memorial city being bulit on basicly
a swamp).. and there ain't no storm cellars
so i can sympathiiize with you.. stay safe sister

kiah, you are not alone with hating those storms... just remember, if the sky turns that really icky greenish grey with black and red edges, run, don't walk to your nearest storm cellar, that is a tornado wanting to drop cloud... Saw one for the first time in Minnesota, and though there was a tornado on the ground about oh 10 miles to the south, we, hubby and I were outside trying to video tape the lightning that was coming from the clouds... Of course we had no clue that there was a tornado on the ground, until someone turned up the radio and the announcer let us know... But ever since getting stuck in the middle of a hurricane, which turned tropical storm when it hit the coast, and the lightning strike that hit the ground about 500 yards behind my dad as he was filling the radiator with water, that was the end of that, I wanted NOTHING to do with those storms, much less that one...
~huggles you tightly~ right now, I would love a storm anything to break this humidity and heat from heck...

oooh Mistress, i even get to that point, when its so hot and humid i hope for a big storm to clear it. a few years ago i flew out to visit my grandmother in Wisconsin via Minneapolis. (shoulda stopped at the Mall of American while i had that chance..lol). i kept telling my family and my friends, with my luck there will be a tornado while i'm out there. well of course saying that and me being me, the very first night, three hours there, i lay down on the pull out sofa and turn the tv on and what is scrolling across the screen, tornado alert. i'm like, grandma ,what county do you live in?. i had to get her who walked very slowly with a walker out of the MOBILE HOME into the rental in the wack of a thunderstorm and drive just two miles to her sister house. it didn't hit there but talk crazy weather!
side note: i went to see her because her Alzheimers was getting worse and she was going to be taken out of her 'home' and put into a nursing home and was in poor health and wanted to see her that one last time to make some more precious memories. she showed me the same pictures told me the same stories, told me how she hated my mother (lol) and one time told me i wasn't her granddaughter (which was real scary at the time) but still could skunk me in cribbage! it was special and sad and so many things - i love you grandma, rest in peace...okay back to the storm subject

SOmeone sent us a storm. I don't know who did it, but at some point in the middle of it, I was sleeping and got awoken by a sonic boom of thunder. My heart was pounding from being awoken in such a way! I accidentally left my car windows open too. I have little doubt that when it stops raining and I finally get out there (cause I'm not running out in the hurricane of rain just to roll my windows up) that the car will just be a bit flooded -lol- Good thing my mother-in-law dropped her car off this morning so we can drive to Scott Air Force base on Sunday for my nephews birthday party, otherwise I was going to have a wet ass for the entirety of the weekend!

Don't look at me... we've had a whole string of em recently, and try as I might, I just can NOT convince them to go elsewhere. As I type this, we're under ANOTHER Severe Weather Watch till 11pm... so if I'm not on again tonight, that would be why. BAH. I actually got online for a few last night, only to get the thunders and had to skeedaddle. Until things are a bit calmer I'll be staying off the net.... games are way easier to get out of... for some reason saying goodbyes online always take me forever! *lol*
Kitya.... about to grow gills so she can breathe in all this dang humidity... heck with that. I'm movin to Carson City!
