Title: Help Needed!

I need a virus scanner program on this damn computer and went to Microsoft's "help page" to find one - that they recommended.
The one I chose just totally screwed up my whole system and I had to uninstall it.
The only thing it did show me was that I have a Trojan on this thing but when I clicked the remove button, it just froze up time and time again.
Then it wouldn't allow my browser to work! So okay - it's gone.
I tried to get the AVG free version and was told it was a corrupt file.

So - anyone got any recommendations?

did you try to get AVG from their site ?.. or another site ?

I am an avowed AVG user.. I used the trial a long time and now purchase it..

I have no idea Sis.... I'mout of touch with free viruswear these days.... our server gives us free McAffee with our subscription. Sowwies....

AVG is good, I have it on all my comps...started with the trial and well, worked it to a full version without actually buying it, butthat is hush hush.  *grins*

I use a combo of programs... I use avg for viruses.. then adaware for spyware and to top it all off i use Eusing registry cleaner... Ive had the same comp for 6 years now so ive been lucky and it works
