So I had a Doctors appointment today to see how I'm doing with my migraines and what not. The migraines are still relatively common, so I was given another prescription for something...An M name. I was also told to stay on Cymbalta, they haven't upped the dosage..and I was given something to help me sleep as well. Because the Migraines are so frequent, and so rough, they scheduled me for an MRI on Saturday the 1st. -sighs- Hopefully, this will be something easily fixed.

If it's Midrin, it doesn't work. I had Migraines. Had being the operative word here. I was treating migraines, because that is what it felt like. I tried everything. Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Tylenol, Excedrine Migraine. Nothing. All of those are simply Acetaminophen, Aspirin, and Caffeine combinations in small doses. So, I took Excedrine Tension Headache. Bigger dose of Acetaminophen. Boom. Problem solved.

Midrin ~shudders~ took my "headache" doctor nearly 3 months to realize that it wasn't working, and to give me something different... Now I am on Pamelor to prevent them, along with Relpax for rescue, if that fails I have his orders to get myself to the ER if it's not gone in 3 days, as I tend to have mini strokes

I have them too and imatrex or other things never worked I have Bubittal or something like that and it works for me. Than again I mix it with oxy codone and cotton... If one does not work the others do. With the change of the seasons I suffer bad. One of the reasons not in the room much right now. My vision blurs and my head gets that A bomb feeling. Really bad ones casue total sensory deprevation. Dark room, no noise no movement and as cold as I can get it. My poor husband would come home to the bedroom window open and the fan sucking in the 40 degree or less cold from outside no lights on in the bedroom and no noise. he learned quick to walk and talk softly. My heart goes out to anyone that suffers from them.

It's not Midrin it's Maxalt. And so far, it worked. Today anyway. I took one and laid down, for three hours, and it's gone. Well for now. We'll see.

Be really careful, if your doctor didn't tell you, the maximum dosage for Maxalt is 40mg in a 24 hour period... and Maxalt is one of the good ones, though for some reason it's not working for anymore, which is why I am now on Relpax, with Pamelor, and in about two weeks I will find out whether or not it decides to do what the other preventives have done... ~shudders and crosses fingers~

I'm allowed to take three, and if that doesn't knock out the Migraine, then it isn't going to work my pharmacist said, so... Hopefully either the MRI says what is wrong, or it's all clear and they have no idea. I dunno. I'm just hoping it's not utterly bad news.

Damn. Makes me glad I don't really have to take medication for anything. I hope you feel better soon darlin, and that this gets rid of the migraines. -hugs-
