Post by: kelsey on January 11, 2010, 06:17:25 PM: I am asking everyone to say prayers for my kadi. She had some tests recently and there is a good possibility that those lumps in her neck have gone cancerous.

She will be undergoing more tests to see how far they have spread. At this time, I don't know the prognosis.

We will try to keep everyone up to date as we know more.

She had experienced a very bad angina attack and it is possible she has suffered some heart damage. The extent is unknown at this time but possibly tests may determine to what extent.

She sounds a bit down, which is to be expected.

Lets double up on those prayers my family!!!

I just got off the phone with kadi. They did some cardiac tests today and kadi is very tired. She does sound better than she did, and I was able to get her to laugh.

They have still not determined to what extent her heart has been damaged. They are saying it was a bloodclot that damaged it. They have her on bloodthinners, but thats it. No stints to catch a moving clot, they don't even know where it is now. I think her docs are complete morons. They seriously need a crotchpunt.

She may be sent home tomorrow. I told her if she is not feeling better to just stay where she is.

They are getting her a machine to help her breath at night which is a good thing.

They are focusing on her diabetes now. Too bad they are not focusing on that clot as well.

She sends her love to all.

Post by: kadi{MTC} on January 15, 2010, 06:44:20 AM: as Rags has said they have sent me home, blood tests they did this morning show that the clot has broke up am still on thinners for a while longer, yes they are getting me a breathing machine for night time and when i nap during the day they think this will help with the amount of attacks I'm am having, the diabetes is being controlled by diet for now but i have to go to my doctors and have it checked out every week, as for the cancer well lets not go there, but kadi will be OK as she was told last night in no uncertain terms she does not have permission to leave you all yet lol

I am all for the kidnapping of kadikins, I saw we start a fund in honor of her to get her to the US and then whoever takes her in, can get her to the right specialists and get her on the road to recovery... I know on this side of the Mississippi River there are some really damn good places to look into that specialize in the areas that she is having issues with...

~huggles kadikins a few more times though each one is gentle, not my normal "bearhuggles-I-can't-breathe" huggles~ And I am also among those who also forbid you from even thinking of giving up or moving on, as you are too precious to us and our family to do such... You are very much loved and cared about, I think more than you even realize... Love you kadikins...

Kadi has been hospitalised in Belfast for heart related issues. She is hoping to be able to travel home thursday but right now that is still left open.

She sounds tired, and as can be expected a bit nervous. I was able to make her chuckle, so our kadibear is still fighting the good fight.

I ask the prayers be stepped up for our kadi.

I spoke with kadi tonight. Her heart is beating too slow. They are trying to treat it with medication. It is yet unknown when she will be discharged. She is depressed, which any of us would be. I did however manage to make her laugh so that is a good sign. She sends her best wishes to all.

Post by: kadi{MTC} on May 17, 2010, 04:59:30 PM: OK a update........i have been in hospital a few times since last post just ain't told anyone as I'm sure you are all fed up with my visits in, the news is this the heart cannot be fixed all they can do is keep it under control with drugs which they are increasing every month till they get the right dosage to slow down the attacks, the only problem with this is that the only drug that seems to be working is the one slowing my heart beat down, so now i have to take readings of that every day, i am also having problems with the diabetes my sugar levels are still to high even on the metformin so they have increased that now as well to twice a day, i also saw my doc today and he knew nothing of me being type2 diabetic the hospital hadn't told him so he says i know that they did cos i get a copy of the letter that was sent to him but now everything is being done my feet will be tested for feelings, i am to have a eye test where they take a photo of the back of the eye and the good news is i never have to pay for meds again, so that is what has been happening with kadi she loves you all so very much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm not a doctor *glances at Raz*, but PLEASE do take your meds to the pharmacist and have them check how your drugs are interacting. My dad almost died many years ago because the doctors were not careful about his combination of heart and blood pressure meds. Several were interacting badly. You would be surprised the problems it can cause.

i have been in hospital a few times over last couple months last of which was sunday night, they thought it was a heart attack but turned out to be this new super flu bug doing the rounds, so after iv antib;s and anti sickness meds they let me home to his where i had been since friday so all in all i ache i cant sleep, and im to damn hot lol

after pestering the docs for over a year about the lumps and pain in my neck i had a scan today, the lumps have grown in size and are very abnormal I have been told today that there is a 80% chance that i have cancer, now they are going to do the CAT scan i should have had last year to see how far it has gone as I have lumps in my throat and in my groin, they also found one going up into my head, so all in all kadi is not very happy

Post by: kadi{MTC} on June 02, 2011, 06:36:13 PM: had a CT scan on tuesday got results today good news is that there is nothing to worry about below my neck all the lumps farther down are cists now the not so good news, the can picked up a few large lumps that are very deep and abnormal normal scans wouldnt have picked them up they that deep, I will be having a op within the next 2 weeks for them to try and take them out only problem with this is i could lose all feeling in my face but its worth the risk if it stops the pain

Post by: kadi{MTC} on July 03, 2011, 05:24:59 AM: ok a update which is not good the docs have lied to me i was at the hospital on thursday i had to see ENT docs first there are large lumps in the base of my neck joining onto my shoulders, they wanted to do biopsys but i said no not till i get back from Belfast I am having this holiday no matter what,so she has the biopsy on 15th july, then she had to go see her cancer docs she saw the top one this time who told me that the lumps are in my chest as well now, things are not looking to good at min for kadi but she will keep on fighting she loves you my family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Post by: kadi{MTC} on August 26, 2014, 01:14:18 PM: she is home again, it was her heart once again, last night my daughter had to put me to bed she couldn't walk she was in so much pain so when she had her DVT check today she told the nurse who in turn got her into see the Docs who was raging that when she first got DVT her tummy was not scanned to see where the clots came from the Doc has now sent the forms to get this done, the Doc is upset that she still is on the injections into the tummy and Warfarin the Warfarin should have kicked in all ready maybe the scans will tell why not she will keep you all up to date on what is going on

Mediastinal nodes at the carine and in the aorta pulmonary window she only knows all this cos she read the letter they gave her for her doctor....

Post by: kadi{MTC} on June 03, 2019, 04:55:54 PM: she is home at her parents house again looking after dad, she had a MRI and it showed that there was scarring and less blood and oxygen getting to some parts of her brain they have taken her off asprain for now hopefully that will work she loves you all

her dad still has not had op to fix his broken neck so is now confined to bed
her mum has stage 3 lung cancer and there is nothing they can do for her except try and keep her pain free as best they can she is also confined to bed she has now been started on morphine so she drifts in and out of sleep kadi knows that one day she will go into the bed room and find her mum gone she is dreading that

she will try and get into camp more (as she has not left)
she loves and misses you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know how difficult it can be trying to hold onto parents as long as possible, and then the mixed emotional release when they have gone. You love and miss them, wishing they were still with you, yet at the same time are relieved they have gone so they are no longer confined, in pain, and dealing with their affliction.

I suppose you can just be happy you have them as long as you do, for what they have passed along to you in knowledge, feelings, and sense of purpose. Pass these things along to others, remember them and they are never truly gone.

You know where we are, and how to find us. Join us as rt allows, and when unable, just know we are with you.
