Ragnar wanders The Point doing some final shopping, trying to relax while still trying to think if anything he could procure has been forgotten. Behind him at a comfortable distance are several thralls, brought along to fetch and carry. NightStorm found a brown and a green shirt she favored last night, so he returned and purchased the same style in red, blue, yellow, two in white, and one in a sort of egg shell color. They are carefully wrapped and carried by one of the thralls.

***************************************************

Pausing, he recalls NightStorm saying how much she loved tastas. He begins haggling with a vendor of the stick candies and finally they agree on a price. He counts out the coinage as the vendor’s kajira carefully packs the goodies. Once packed, the girl stacks four cases each weighing a bit over a stone in a thrall’s arms. Ragnar has to chuckle and hopes she REALLY likes stick candies!!!

******************************************************

Once again RAGNAR pauses at a merchant booth. He begins commenting on a couple items which soon turns to haggling quietly. Low balling, high balling, give and take, eventually an acceptable price is reached. Ragnar counts out the coinage as the merchant wraps a new hair brush and a new hand mirror carefully and hands the package to one of the thralls. Repeating this once again, a second package is handed over. Both are finely detailed and silver plated… one for prism and one for flame. Handing the Merchant the coinage Ragnar bids him well and moves on.

*******************************************

Ragnar ducks into the Jewelers Lodge and closes the door behind him. There is only the Jeweler and himself present and he inquires as to what he wishes. The Jeweler nearly breaks his face as he smiles, and goes into the back room to return moments later with a finely crafted temwood box with ornate carvings and gold hardware, the black of the polished wood accentuating the brightness of the buffed gold. Opening the case, the crushed red velvet lining is beautiful, and as the cover piece is removed, revealed nestled within is a finely crafted gold hand mirror with precious gems mounted around the mirror and running the length of the handle. On the left side of the mirror rests a matching gold comb with the spine of the comb highlighted by etching and small diamond gems. On the right, a brush matching the comb and mirror. Ragnar nods his approval. Now the haggling begins. It takes a good half an ahn before a price is agreed upon. It was not cheap as this is all hand crafted and another will never be made by this Jeweler. Coinage is counted and the pouch slid across the counter. The beautiful case is bundled and wrapped and taken up by Ragnar. Bidding the Jeweler well, Ragnar exits the lodge and continues on his way keeping this package himself.

Tuchuk has left The Point and has headed for home. The temperature is unnaturally hot for this time of year and though usually chilly at night, it remains hot.

The column moves slowly under the heavily weighed down wagons, but it moves steadily. The heat, combined with the load, will require the column to move from water supply to water supply instead of taking a more direct route towards home.

When we reach the next water supply and all have pertaken, food will be prepared for those wishing it. It will be no feast, and on the lean side, but it will sit better during travel and keep the belly growlies away. Then, we shall move out for the next water supply.

Tuchuk continues the homeward journey, thus far without incident. It still remains unusually hot for this time of year, and the wagons continue to make frequent stops to water the stock and when a water source is reached, to refill the huge water barrels.

As of this report, we have stopped to tend the stock and take on water. The long slow pace seems to have most people grumbly and growly. I will not push for speed at this stop. An easy pace might help a few dispositions. With this heat, I am concerned about our perishables. Though it will place an even higher strain on our water supplies, m instructions are to wet down the perishables at each water source, as well as the hide tarps covering them from the sun.

When the work is done, I expect to see, and will not discourage so long as short lived, some water hijinks. It will likely raise spirits as well as cool heated bodies.

Everything began with very unusual high temperatures for this season even given our wintering location.

The wagons have been travelling towards the main camp via water supply to water supply.

The wagons were overtaken by severe weather which developed into a tornado. The wagons managed to make it into a low cul de sak, or a low blind valley and overall weathered the weather front well all things considered.

One bosk was injured beyond saving, but was not wasted as it was spitted so all could at least get something on the stomachs.

Only a few dead have been accounted for and have been wrapped and placed on a wagon platform for the rest of the journey home. Twenty-three Outriders are missing, but it is possible many of them may return to the wagons. Time will tell.

Injuries for the most part have been reported minor. A few broken limbs, cuts, bruises, and a few lacerations requiring some minor suturing. The most prevalent injuries seem to be exposed skin was "sandblasted" by airborn particles, and eyes becoming dust caked requiring repeated flushing and care. So far as found as of this report, you are either dead or alive. There are none lingering on the edge.

The wagons have returned to the higher ground and must be inspected for damage, and repaired where necessary. The loads must be checked and re-secured. The heavy freighter containing the timber had to be abandoned when its load shifted and spilled as Tuchuk headed for cover. The bosk team, the repair wagon, 20 Outriders and fifty thralls have set out to recover what they can. A Rider did return to inform me the wagon was located, and is currently being reloaded and secured. A new tongue is being fitted into place and should join the rest of the wagons by morn.

It is my hope the wagons can once again move out for home by evening.

The temperature has fallen to normal and there is a chill in the air as a light rain falls.

End preliminary report

The wagons were able to roll once again sooner than expected, and made excellent progress having to stop only once more for water and to rest the teams.

The heavy freighter of timber was successfully salvaged and only a few timbers ended up missing, likely deposited upon the grasses somewhere. One timber was found embedded in the ground in our path. It was left therewhere Endless Sky placed it.

We also discovered a tarn complete with tarnsman in the grasses. When I say in the grasses, I mean IN THE GRASSES. It appears they were caught in the storm and did a serious powerdiving nose dive/face plant. The buzzard was smashed up to the saddle and the tarnsman was smashed into the ground as well. Wings outstretched, tail feathers sticking straight up towards the Sky. The last view of it was Sarant rifling through the gear and checking for any gold teeth or fillings in the remains of the tarnsman's skull.

The wagons made it home and into positions most useful. The personal wagons that made the trip were placed back into their assigned lots. The freighters are circled around the entire main area for offloading.

The perishables were the first wagons set upon by hundreds of slaves. The contents will be inspected as they are unloaded to save space in their storage. Overly ripe items may be used or discarded as the case may be. The remaining wagons may be unloaded in order of importance or expiration. When completed, the freighters are to be returned to their areas and all bosk teams returned to their areas to graze and recover from the journey.

I shall be riding out to inspect the herds upon completion of report. I shall return as soon as duty permits. (NightStorm knows the details so between her and woobie info will get relayed.)

I would declare this venture to The Point for supplies as a success.

Unload and settle in... rest and relax as much as possible the next few days, and life will return to normal.

Well done Tuchuk!!!

Report for RAGNAR

I made a thorough walk through camp this night.  The offloading and organizing of supplies is going about as quickly as one can expect.  The Clans are making good headway in emptying the freight wagons.

Otherwise, all is quiet in Tuchuk.

-= Report by Taryn =-

Clan of Healer supplies have been unloaded and placed in the medical freight wagon, next step is to re-stock the inner and outer circle medical wagons which will begin tomorrow.

I have been ordered to get rest by Nicolas, as I haven't had much sleep since we arrived back in camp. This was ordered by Nicolas and I am actually going to listen and take tonight to sleep, though there is still much yet to get done and organized.

finding more supplies as I continue to unload the wagons from The Pointe, I find:

15 nets - varying sizes

10 woven baskets - varying sizes

2 crates of various dishes ( 15 full sets )

1 crate of botas ( 50 botas )

2 crates of silks

2 crates of repcloths

2 crates of cheesecloths in varying degrees of fineness

a whole set of crates one nested inside another, the smallest being only big enough to hold a ring or something of similar size

1 crate of goblets ( 40 goblets )

1 crate full of spurs ( 20 pair )

2 kailla saddles in decent condition

in the process of finding these items, I make sure that they get distributed to the appropriate locations in Camp
