This Week's Gossip
On Sunday morning I was up early and met Rachel in Central Park since the sun was out. We walked since she still isn't quite up to running with that knee. I went home, showered and dressed comfortably, then met Rach again in the Palm Court for brunch.

We were joined by that man named Donivan Kline that I met Saturday night. Turns out he's a golf pro from Colorado, here on vacation. He picked up the brunch tab and in return, Rachel and I took him on the ferry over to see the Statue of Liberty. Although he feared sea sickness, he didn't lose his cookies overboard.

Donivan, who' was staying in the Plaza Hotel, bumped into me again in the hotel bar Sunday evening. He invited me out for dinner and I took him over to the Four Seasons where we enjoyed the lemon veal and lasagna. He's promised to teach me to play golf. I said he'd better move to New York City to accomplish that. He's considering his options. I might be able to talk Diego into pulling some strings on Donivan's behalf and get him a nice job at one of the area county clubs.

It was the first play for Rachel after her accident and I could tell she was nervous. Muppet filled in for Eric as Will and did a great job. Kate played Jack since TB couldn't get there. The play was funny as hell and I think Donivan, who sat right beside me, enjoyed it immensely.

We left right after the play and Donivan told me he's decided to stay in New York City and accept the offer Diego set up at Winged Foot. He plans on making me his first student.

The TV news was filled with reports on the rape and murder of that 20 year old Columbia Student, April Storm. How in the hell did the killer manage to get in her dorm room unnoticed?

On Friday an old friend named Katrina Kane showed up in New York City. I asked Diego to hire her as a new bartender at the Four Seasons. He agreed and she'll be starting next week. She brought a friend named Noah Campbell with her. I'm still not sure what the relationship is there between those two.

I spoke with my real estate friend, Beth Clark, asking her if there were any nice apartments available for my new friend, Donivan. She said there was a great possibility where a renter was being transferred to Europe. Since the lease held a long term rent control rate and the owner was willing to let it be sublet maintaining the rate of $2500 a month, I grabbed Donivan and took him over. He was thrilled with it but needed a little help with the security deposit and first month's rent. I wrote her a check for $3500. Donivan said he'd pay me back within a month. Since he has that great job now as an instructor at Winged Foot, I feel comfortable there.

I helped him move in on Friday night. I think he was surprised that I brought an overnight bag with me and spent the night. No, we never did the nasty that night, but I woke up alone in his bed Saturday morning. He'd left a nice note thanking me for all my help. He'd gotten up at 5:30 so he could be at Winged Foot by 7:00 to help with the tournament there.

I had to call Rachel and apologize for disappearing on her without letting her know where I went. She was shopping in the Queens Mall when I finally reached her on her cell phone. I took Donivan to the Four Seasons on Saturday night where we often meet to party. Rachel and Eva Macy were there waiting as planned, and it didn't take long for Eva to have him out dancing to the soft piano music. I think they'll hit it off quite well.

Jamie Peterson was the entertainer that night and she did a nice job, teasing not only Donivan, but also Noah who was quietly sitting at one end of the bar waiting for Kat. We all got a kick out of an embarrassed Rachel when Jamie hit on her too.

I noticed one of Big Apple's new escort ladies, Mira Kunis, walk in the club. She was wearing a very seductive dress and took a seat alone at a table near the bar. She was obviously expecting a date to meet her there. I thought it might have been her potential client that walked in shortly later and took a seat at the end of the bar where he ordered a Johnnie Walker Black. He looked stunned at the price of his drink.

Eventually, Mila made her way to the bar, but it was obvious this guy wasn't her "date." They did strike up some pretty humorous banter which we could only hear part of at that distance. My cell phone vibrated against my inner thigh and I walked away from the bar to answer it. It was Diego, of course, doing exactly what I'd requested, calling me at eleven so I could excuse myself and leave Donivan in Eva's hands.

Jason Maloney came in, sat beside Rachel and was trying hard to convince her to let him take her back to his place for a more private massage. I can't wait to find out the outcome there, although I doubt if either of them will share the truth.

I headed home, finished my column here and faxed it in before crawling in bed for a good night's sleep.

Entertainment
This Wednesday night, April 19th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Friends - Eddie Won't Go. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
