Jess Bradford Arrested

On Friday evening, Dara Bertolli received an anonymous call saying we could find Jess Bradford in a West Side corner bar. We went over and made the arrest, but the surprise was finding my daughter, Janette there actually drinking beer while talking to this thief. I made Jan leave the bar in spite of the fact that she'd turned 21 in February. She didn't argue because she knew I didn't think much of finding her there.

On Saturday morning I picked up a search warrant for the apartment Bradford had been hiding in, his friend's place at 600 West 98th Street. Dave Dorey let us enter after voicing an objection to any search of anything more than the guest room Jess was staying in. One serious warning from Dara shut Dorey up pretty quickly.

Jeff Mallard brought his new assistant CSI agent, Vittoria Romano. She did the search and eventually found a box filled with stolen jewelry that included Katie Donovan's stuff. We'll do our best to extract the locations where Jess stole the rest of the stuff and return it to their various owners.

The new CSI agent Vittoria Romano, is good at the job, although I'm sure she was nervous because Jeff was watching her every move.  I'm not sure if she's a temp until El gets back from her vacation, or if she'll be kept on full time to help out. 

While we were in the apartment, the news came on and that idiot Bridget Martin pronounced my name wrong again.  I'm sure she does it on purpose because she knows I can't stand her.  She barges in to a crime scene like she owns it and messes everything up.  On the pretext of news, of course.  Bullsh**. 

Fortunately, she didn't get to this one and Vittoria found the jewelry in Bradford's closet. We're now sorting out what belongs to whom, and I'm sure Katie Donovan will be happy to get that huge engagement ring back.

On Monday I wrapped up the Jeff Bradford case. I met with Bradford and his attorney, Diane Neal, and we negotiated a guilty plea that saved the state a trial that had guilty written all over it, Judge Gamble sentenced him to 5 years at Attica with a possibility of parole in 30 months.
