In the works.
Hoping to go inspecting lots and getting a set price, hopefully a possible group rate but as yet unsure.
Once done, it is possible we may have to reserve the lots all together, and if that is the case, it may entail payment up front to hold them. This way nobody can just set up and claim the lots since they have already been paid for. Then I can have fun asking them politely ONCE to pack their shit and move. I will not ask a second time... I will relocate them as far INTO the lake as I possibly can. *Innocent angelic look*
As it stands currently, it will be at Guilford Lake about twenty minutes from my house. Travel will not be a big deal since it is the same timewise, if not shorter by freeway, than the past gatherings at the Motel.
The cost this season was $25.00 a night for a lot with electric. They say it is subject to change, but no conformation on any change as yet. So even without a change... without group rates... I would guestimate no more than $35.00 a night per lot.
I will also check what out of state fishing licenses run for those who may wish to wet a line. I believe they are three day licenses. I have plenty of fishing tackle and gear, so none need bring their own unless they have a favorite terminal tackle they prefer. I do not provide bait. (Unless someone royally pisses me off and I decide their fresh liver will make good catfish bait.)
As before, we will do the group meal thing. Since we are camping and twenty minutes to a half hour one way from town, we will go all out and do all our meals at the camp. As such, the usual collection for the meals may also increase a bit this year, but it will still be cheaper than eating out for meals.
As always, drinks are not included in the meal plans. They are up to the individuals.
Tentatively it will be that second weekend in July. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and leave Monday morning after our last camp breakfast and cleanup. We used to go out for breakfast that last morning, but considering this year we will have campers, trailers, tents etc etc etc.... that will make things rather difficult. So... a final camp breakfast together just kinda seems the way to go.
The campground has a public shower and shithouse... so no need to dig latrines. Do note however... that I will sacrifice proximity to the facilities in preference to as much segregation from others as possible. This way, others do not bother us and we do not bother others. Even at the furthest sites from the facilities, it is not much further to walk than what we had walking from our motel to the diner by the road when it was open... so it is not bad at all.
When woobie and I go on our scouting mission, I will have woobie take pictures so everyone can get an idea of what the place is like. It IS a campground with some modern conveniences. Do NOT expect room service and other amenities. It is camping. Skeeter repellant is your friend. Dogs are allowed in some areas. I will also ask about service dogs being allowed in non designated areas.
I would not recommend bringing the family pet unless you intend to babysit the entire time.
They have party barges for rent (Pontoon boats), should you wish to have me give a tour of the lake itself. We will also get prices for these as well.
I am unsure about alcohol on State Grounds but will look into it. If worst comes to worst, hide the bar and drink out of cups, and nobody knows anything. Nobody has ever caused any problems in the past with alcohol, or any other substances, so I see no reason why it would start now. We do a very good job of policing our own.
The site does not have much info, but here is the link...
