The New York Giants New Stadium
« on: January 14, 2006, 01:23:49 PM »
Diego called me on my cell phone as I was headed for Jersey to take another look at the potential jobsite for the new NY Giants stadium at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. He asked me to deliver a copy of the project plans and our potential estimate in the Bada Bing, Tony Soprano's headquarters.

It's a tough place, filled with tough guys, and Tony didn't disappoint me. He was crude, hard nosed, and made it clear he felt disrespected by Diego sending me instead of being there himself.

I know Diego didn't plan it that way, but I could feel the offense taken by both Tony and Christopher. I delivered the data, reminded Tony that I was just the messenger, bringing him what he needed to look over before meeting with Diego to agree how they can work together.

Both Silvio Dante and Paulie Walnuts showed up and gave me nice big Sicilian hugs, before they realized that Tony was in a pissy mood. I backed off when Tony stood to confront me as I left. He even made a few comments regarding my friend, Cami Diaz, even saying he'd like a piece of that. I told him he'd better discuss that with Cami face to face.

The New York Giants and the state of New Jersey have announced plans for a new 80,000 seat stadium complex at the Meadowlands. The construction will be 100 percent privately financed and will include practice and training facilities as well as restaurants and stores. Due to the private financing, we're currently working out an 800 million dollar contract for Genovese Construction Inc. using Tony Soprano's Teamster backed trucking to assist us.

I sent Ben over with a copy of the estimate we're offering. Hopefully, Tony and I can agree on an arrangement that will satisfy both families. Tony Soprano is a good guy, just a little rough around the edges.

I plan to meet with him next week and I'm bringing him a box of nice Cuban cigars to demonstrate my respect for his efforts there in Jersey City.
