This Week's Gossip
New York City, the city that never sleeps. It's true. I didn't sleep much during the night, but I made up for it by skipping my morning run to sleep in with Jason Maloney, the Carnegie Hill Spa's magnificent masseuse.  Trust me, he's much more than just that. I managed to catch Rachel at home after her run and we met at the Palm Court for brunch as usual.

The Monday morning New York Times carried Hollie Mead's front page article about the tragic automobile crash in White Plains that left Delinda Deline near death. Diego Farina, CEO of Genovese Enterprises took Rachel and I up to see Ms. Deline on Sunday evening. She fell asleep, but we left our gifts with her father, Ed Deline, who was extremely upset about the tragic loss of his daughter's baby.

Hollie stated that this wasn't an accident and may have been caused by that same maniac that's been terrorizing the New York City area, The Carver. I shudder at the thought of ever meeting this crazy person. Hollie said the police now believe it might be a blonde female that was seen fleeing the scene.

Rachel's Wednesday night play was terrific. With Eric as Will and Lynzy as Grace we spent the whole night laughing. Dami sure knows how to play Karen and Kate was pretty funny as Jack as he/she massaged Karen.

On Saturday I rode over to Columbia with Diego and Tiffany to attend the press conference where Mayor Bloomberg introduced Diego as the largest donor for Farina Hall, the new extension to the Columbia University Library.

I was stunned, as I'm sure we all were, when a sniper shot Diego in the chest. I thought he was dead the way he was driven backwards. Luckily, the protective vest that Furio insisted Diego wear prevented the bullet from entering his chest and his heart below it.

The police are still trying to sort out what happened. Dr. Gregory House let us all know that Diego would be fine, suffering only a cracked rib and a nasty huge, deep bruise. Dr. Rosemary Cappadora, a cardiologist who was caring for him, finally let us see him, but kept him overnight and only let Lt. Friday speak to him for a few minutes. Diego isn't saying whether he even knows who might have been behind the assassination attempt.

Entertainment
This Wednesday night, March 8th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Friends - Dr. Remore Dies. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
