On Monday there were a series of explosions at the Hudson Hotel in The Bronx. Three dead bodies were found in the area. The police press release offered by Lt. Joseph Friday held back the possible names of the victims, but did say they appeared to all be Russian immigrants that might be involved in recent Russian Mafia gangs.
Lt. Friday said the three bodies were killed by automatic rifle fire and that in addition to the five bombs set off in the Hudson Hotel lobby, tear gas was used to mask the attack. All efforts are being made to determine which gangs might have been involved.
Lisa Cohen, New York City F. B. I. director, refused to comment until they have more information.
