This Week's Gossip
Sunday morning I woke up first and left Bobby still sleeping while I called downstairs and ordered up our breakfast, cheese omelets and hash browns, fresh squeezed orange juice and a pot of coffee. I know Bobby prefers coffee. The lad arrived with the cart and served us in bed. I drilled Bobby a bit regarding Eva and learned that Donivan had actually shown up at Bobby's studio last week and watched as Eva posed, not only for the bikini bathing suit ads, but for the full frontal strip tease that Bobby was sending to Playboy.
On Monday there were a series of explosions at the Hudson Hotel in The Bronx. Three dead bodies were found in the area. The police press release offered by Lt. Joseph Friday held back the possible names of the victims, but did say they appeared to all be Russian immigrants that might be involved in recent Russian Mafia gangs.
Lt. Friday said the three Russians were killed by automatic rifle fire and that in addition to the five bombs set off in the Hudson Hotel lobby, tear gas was used to mask the attack. All efforts are being made to determine which gangs might have been involved.
On Wednesday afternoon I sat in the back row of the courthouse with Bridget Martin as Judge Helen Gamble turned that Columbia University volleyball coach, Victor Watters, free. The jury foreperson was none other than our new Bronx council seat candidate, Emily Addison. I guess although it was obvious that Vic is a well known womanizer, Nelle Porter just didn't have enough proof that Vic was still there when April Storm was strangled to death. I have to give Tara Wilson of Crane, Poole & Schmidt credit for winning the case, but I personally believe Vic did it.
I sat in the back row as usual and enjoyed Rachel's version of Sex and the City on Wednesday night. It went pretty well and Donivan Kline did fine in his second appearance there. Donivan gave me my first golf lesson at Winged Foot this week. By the time we finished he'd improved my grip and my posture, hitting a golf ball I mean.
I spent Friday night with Diego at the Palace Theater where the Lestat opened this week. Hugh Panaro did a fantastic job as the vampire and Diego also did a fine job of role playing my vampire later that night. During the intermission, Diego said he met with his daughter Tiffany's date, Barry, as he was leaving the Four Seasons. He was pleased that she found such a nice Columbia student, since he was never happy about her relationship with the exotic Frenchman, Pierre LaFonte.
I was sitting at Mahoney's Irish Pub, chatting with Molly McGafferty, when Tiffany Farina walked in and kissed the guy sitting at the other end of the bar. Yes, he turned out to be Barry Watters, the guy Diego said she was dating. I knew Diego would be a little surprised when he finds out that Barry was the son of Victor Watters, the guy that had just escaped that murder conviction earlier in the week.
They were pretty cute together, playing 8-ball on the pub's pool table. Tiffany won the game and the prize, where Barry will have to do what ever Tiff chooses when they get back to her place. Makes me wonder if Barry might have thrown that game?
Denny Mahoney showed up as Tiffany and Barry were leaving. Denny told Molly that he would handle the bar for the last hour or so, since she'd been there working all day. I took Molly with me and we went bar hopping. She wound up spending the night with me after we closed the bar at the Plaza Hotel.
Entertainment
This Wednesday night, May 3rd at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Will & Grace - Will & Dogs. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
