From the Vintner's Wagon....
« on: February 07, 2008, 11:04:32 AM »
I am rapidly discovering that this thing called "RT" is an insidious creature, even more tenacious than the best-trained sleen, which keeps slipping up and carrying people off for a time at the oddest moments.  Though there is no escaping this vicious beast, I think I perhaps have managed to deal a truce with it so that I may return to my Tuchuk Family. I will be present whenever I may, especially during Migration since all of us who have been through Winter Migration know that every Healer and Medic is needed (even a Medic-in-training LOL).
My wagons are prepared as best they may be, though I will double-check everything in the next few days since much of it has been done by thralls during My absence in the vile clutches of the beast called RT. The Vintner's Wagon does continue to operate, though at a much slower pace since the still has been packed away and fresh fruits and yeast for winemaking are running low (which I plan to remedy when we reach Turia this time). There is still plenty of wine available since I was quite busy when I was able to be present, and goodly stores of wine were laid up in My freight wagon.
My thanks to dakota for being instrumental in keeping the newly-bottled spirits from piling up in the Clan wagon, as he is always around to tote the crates of finished beverages over to the freight wagon even as I start the next batch. To his credit, let it be known the boy has never broken a single bottle, and has always stacked the crates exactly where and as instructed, saving Me endless hours of reorganizing the freight wagon. The boy's timely assistance with greasing the axles of My wagons is also appreciated and was done well. He does credit to his Mistress' collar.

(In other news.... Our little Tuchuk-to-be is doing very well indeed and is eating Us out of wagon and hearth even while She be yet in the womb LOL. Reality has set in with a thud, borne by a HUGE crib that took two Men to carry upstairs and a trunkload of baby clothes from one of Kay's coworkers. We both still work full-time, so free time is really limited now, but I plan to be here at least briefly for every single day of Migration if at all possible, and as much as I can manage afterwards. Who knows, one of these days I may make a Tuchuk out of Kay... :P )
