This Week's Gossip
Mary McGrath and I woke up last Sunday morning at my place, both with throbbing headaches from too much wine Saturday night. Gino was already gone, but he left a nice note on my dresser. Maybe he'll make her next novel too.

We went to church together at St Patrick's Cathedral, then came back to the Palm Court for brunch. During brunch Rachel called on my cell phone and gave me here itinerary. She'll be staying with Jon Bon Jovi all week, wrapping things up in Vegas. She plans to fly back next Sunday and I said I'd try and borrow Diego's limo and Furio to pick her up out front.

I told Rachel about Bradley Barton's intriguing sudden death, being killed by a mugger in supposedly a robbery gone bad. She said that sure seemed pretty damned convenient and we laughed a bit.

I did notice that Scotty Valens was questioning both Barbara Barton and Carl Cameron, after he met with Seamus Clark. A little birdie tells me that Barbara has retained Katie Donovan as her attorney now. Interesting situation developing here. My paparazzi source tells me that Barbara was seen leaving the offices of an obstetrician last week. Good Lord, she must be knocked up!

I keep trying to get a few minutes alone with Seamus, to get the latest info. Has he finished chapter two of the novel with Mary McGrath?

Saturday night I made my way down to Mahoney's Irish Pub where Denny now offers strippers as entertainment on Saturday nights. My personal favorite there is the sexy brunette bartender, Rafe Michaels. She sure knows how to tease the men as she flits through the crowd allowing only the minimum physical contact. You can catch her there most nights except Thursdays and Fridays.

Last night I was pleasantly surprised to find Barbara Barton there, instead of her normal haunt, the Four Seasons Supper Club. Barb said she was avoiding contact with Detective Scotty Valens who's handling the mugger murder case of her husband. We started sharing pitchers of Killian's Red Ale as we talked.

I thought Barbara was going to go bonkers when Rafe mentioned that Cody Boyd is in town and will be having dinner with her tomorrow night. It's obvious Barbara knows this Cody fellow and thought he was back in Detroit. Rafe said she might be able to tell me more after her dinner date with Cody.

Barb had been putting away too much ale by the time Seamus Clark waltzed in so I decided it might be best if I just escorted her home. I called for a taxi and simply took her back to my place. I helped her undress and tucked her in my bed before I finished up this column and faxed it in to the Times.

Entertainment
Due to Kate's nasty fall and death, and a few others experiencing difficulties, Rach will set her plays at rest for a while, but they will return.
