Weapons Master Testing
« on: December 07, 2008, 01:43:49 PM »
The time has come to test for Weapons Master.

This testing is open to all Warriors bearing the Courage, Camp, Trusted Scars, and higher. If you do not bear at least these first three Scars..... forget about it.

It should also be known that testing for Weapons Master does involve potential death and permanent maiming possibilities. Healer(s) will be on hand for immediate medical attention, but this by no means guarantees survival or noncrippling permanent injury. You Can die.... You can be permanently maimed!!!

Why is Weapons Master so serious? Because those who wear the Scar teach and train others in weapons and combat tactics for survival. Tuchuk lives depend on this. The lives of our family depend upon the skills passed on.

I do strongly recommend those Warriors taking the test keep the matter private between they and myself. This saves bruised pride and potential embarrassment should they fail... and yes. The test has been failed in the past. It is extremely easy to fail. It is extremely easy to die or be permanently crippled or maimed.

Weapons Master Testing is comprised of several parts. Each part must be passed in order to proceed to the next level of testing. Failing at any level means your testing is done. You may test again when the test is offered... if you are still alive and physically able. Each testing phase becomes more difficult, and each phase is designed to prepare the Warrior for subsequent levels. There is no grading curve. It is pass or fail. Warriors failing at each phase will be notified of their failure via board IM at each phase.

All wishing to test will submit a letter of intent to me via board IM no later than 12:01AM EST Saturday Dec 13 2008.

An essay from these Warriors will be sent to me via board IM no later than 12:01AM EST Sat Dec 20 2008 of no less than 800 words and no more than 1,000 detailing what it means to be a Weapons Master and why Weapons Master is so important and crucial to Tuchuk, and what your expectations are should you become a Weapons Master.

A Webpage will be submitted by each Warrior showing as many Gorean weapons and tools of combat and their descriptions backed up by book quotes. These will be broken down by category, IE Helmets... Shields... Swords... Axes... etc. Do not worry if you are no web designer. I look at content, not how pretty the page is. It can be simple black text on white background for all I care, so long as the required info is there. The addy for each Warrior's page will be sent to me via IM through the board. This will also include weapons used by slaves in slave matches. This need not include Thassa Sea combat weapons or devices, though they may be included. This will be due no later than 12:01AM EST Jan 10 2009.

Timed Exam covering weapons knowledge. Date and time TBA.

The next phase will move into actual hands on abilities. The times and dates will be announced for these phases. These phases will be broken down into categories;
