                                                                                       so why is the penny larger than the dime, when the nickel is bigger than the dime&penny, whilst the quarter is bigger then the previously three and then the 1/2 dollar (50 cent piece) is bigger than the quarter............... why why why?

Well I was thinking more of a quarter and a nickel to equal 30 cents.  I have tons of quarters.  A quarter and nickel equals 2 coins and three dimes equals 3 coins.  If we did a quarter and 3 pennies, that would be 4 coins.  I am going with the 2 coins.
