Seems things are a bit worse for wear around here. -head desk several dozen times- Just got a text from our roommate stating we have 2 months to move out and whatever money we were able to gather up will go to that, as he will not take nothing from us. He just wants us out. So the fun part is now looking for a place that is on the 1st floor and won't end up putting us in worse dire straights than we are now.
BUT! I just applied to a hotel desk clerk job this week, the pay is anywhere from $8-9/hr and it's only overnight weekends, but this opens the door for me into a new area of work and I will have access to the internet, which means that if things work out, I can get on line there and possibly get into camp for a few hours or so.
The main reason we need a first floor apartment, or perhaps a complex with an elevator is that Ray injured his hip badly this winter, when the steps were icy and snow covered, he took not one fall but two. The landlord never got anyone to clear the steps or the walk ways of ice and snow, nor did he do it himself. I do know he got fined several times from the city for non-snow removal for the 3 properties here and if his hip is seriously screwed up, we will more than likely file a grievance against him and his company for failure to maintain property during the winter months. We even have pictures and several witnesses who are willing to stand up with us. At this present time, he can barely walk anywhere without screaming and crying, sleeping is nearly out of the question as well. Walking down the hall to the bathroom nearly causes him to pass out from the level of pain he experiences. He has an orthopedic appointment on Monday, as that was the soonest they could get him in and the both of us are worried that it's going to be bad news. Something we really do not need right now.
I went to the orthopedic yesterday and was told that I do have severe bursitis in my left hip (DUH!) and that both my knees look good, but I do have arthritis grade 4 in my right knee, but he doesn't see the need for a partial replacement anytime in the next decade, as long as the steroid injections work. So far, I have to say they aren't, in fact, I am in more pain than I was before I had the injection at least in my knee, the injection in my hip worked wonders like I knew it would and have been hoping to get for over 3 years now. I know the drill by now though, I will jump through all the hoops and do everything he wants me to do with no fuss, but am going to be straight forward with him when something works and when it doesn't. I still think I need an MRI for him to really see what sort of damage has been done to my knee since I had the surgery on it over 3 years ago. I hate having to start over, but that is the way things are going.
Anyway, just a bit of an update of what is going on with us, why we haven't been around and what I hope will be my return to camp in the near future. Though I will say that the job I have been doing on line doesn't pay too much, but since they implemented direct deposit, it's been a goddess-send. Completely forgot about one of my payouts and was pleasantly surprised yesterday when we learned that it had been placed on our credit card/debit card. So we have some money coming, but not enough to keep a roof over our heads presently.
