Healer's Migration Log

Before heading into Turia I cleared the medwagon of its last patient.  The frostbitten Warrior walked out without falling flat on his face.  I call that a win.

Healers are to be escorted around Turia by an assigned Healer's Own Orman.

I myself have Dochin shadowing me.

Shoko is being protected by Arata.

Taryn is being watched over by Ryota.

These Men are very handy to have around in negotations.

Still need to work on their manners though.

We have reached Turia and are set up outside the wall by the secondary gate.

Arrangements have been made for services within Turia to accommodate most of our needs.

Those of the First Wagon have the entire third floor of the Paradise Inn... Tuchuk Council has the second floor... The first floor, and ground floor still have vacancies.

Tend to purchases and resupply. Eat well, rest, try to relax. I can not stress the importance of gathering personal supplies as well as Clan supplies.

Some within Turia will gladly barter and trade. Some will not. Expect this.

General Information;

Arrangements have been made for those who wish to accept them. Each person, slave and Free alike are to receive a bath and laundry service, barber services, one free meal of their choosing, and refreshments while in the bath houses.

We will remain armed within reason, though we are not expecting issues to arise. Simple sidearms will suffice with escorts being the exception. How heavily armed they will be I leave to the ones they escort.

All free short of coin may see the Ubara, Sidona, Mercilayne, or Amber for camp funding at no interest. Slaves will be gifted five copper to spend as they wish from my own coffers.

Turn the team bosk out to free graze, but keep them separate from the main herd. Tend to the other stock as needed and release the verr to graze under close watch to keep them together.

Tend to the wagons, and those needing new or additional wagons should see the Caste of Builders here and order them as soon as possible so they will be ready when we move.

Turia has been expecting migrations to arrive soon, and have stocked up heavily on verr, tarsk, and vulo. Purchase these while available and do bear in mind how hungry our kaiila and sleen are.

Two full Oralu of Outriders will remain on duty at all times for our stock, and one full Askari Oralu for our wagons.

DO TRY to keep out of trouble.

THINGS TO TRY AND AVOID;

Spitting in the fountain.

Bathing in the fountain.

Relieving yourself in the fountain.

Bathing stock in the fountain.

Doing laundry in the fountain.

Relieving yourselves in the shops.

Relieving yourselves on the Shop Keepers and Merchants.

Slaying tarn belonging to Turians and claiming it is for a cookout.

Collecting veils for bragging rights.

Cutting off of FW's hair.

Shaving of Men's hair.

Using Turians for target practice.

Permanently borrowing everything not nailed down and claiming you just found it laying there.

Do not start fights. But you may feel free to finish them.

Placing stick meat where it should not be stuck.

Changing their tarnwire location(s) when they are not looking.

Just do your best to try and behave.

END

Continue stocking on supplies.

Tuchuk's inner circle, IE...  the main camp, has been invited to dine courtesy of the Administrator THURSDAY night. A good attendance is expected.

So much for staying out of trouble.

Was it Ragnar? Nope.

Salem, Raziel, Terran, Cassius or any of the other Commanders or Warriors? Nope.

Was it the Ubara? Nope.

It was Ragnar's Daughters... Amber and Shoko. Yes, that is correct. Amber and Shoko.

They decided to discharge a Warrior from the med cylinder and was too impatient to wait for the Physician to get to them. Impatient? A Tuchuk? Imagine that.

Needless to say, Amber decided to take a poke at the Physician and likely broke his nose. Needless to say events quickly escalated from there.
Needless to say, the area surrounding the med cylinder filled with City Guards... more Tuchuk Warriors... then Turian Warriors... then more Tuchuk Warriors... then Turian Cavalry... then more Tuchuk Warriors... then Terran and his Oralu... Then Turian Archers... etc etc etc.

Finally Ragnar arrived, then the Administrator. To say things were a bit tense would be an understatement, especially after the gates were closed and the City placed on lockdown.

Terran tried diplomacy. Amber and Shoko... not so much.

It was finally decided to allow the Physician to handle the matter with Amber by himself.

Needless to say, Amber was not collared, whipped, stripped, or befall any negative experience at the hands of the Physician. On the contrary... the Physician was left on the street in a fetal position wishing and praying to the Priest Kings that he had never been born. Face all busted up... his nuts little more than a memory... his hands destroyed... kidney damage resulting in his having to piss in a container strapped to his leg when tended to... soiled garments after losing control of his bladder... a separated hamstring... a multitude of other injuries ranging from insignificant to HOLY SHIT!!!... and a very severe case of embarrassment accompanied by an ego even more mashed than his nuts.

Amber required a few sutures to close up her knuckles.

Shoko had to rest her mouth.

Terran broke the street.

We ate, got drunk, returned to the Inn.

None were taken into custody.

I receive a missive of how the Tuchuk were doing at Turia, and read it...and my jaw drops.  I knew that the Men brawled in Turia, but this was the first I had heard of a FW Physician doing such!

I chuckle, knowing that Shoko had probably had to be held back, and fold up the message and set it in my parfleche.

The team bosk have been separated and herded to their Owners.

Deliveries are still being made to the wagons and should be completed by midday.

Make ready to move upon command.

We set course for our wintering lands in the Cartius region where the grass is green and the temperatures are warm again.

Thus far, all things said, our stay in Turia has been remarkably good.

Wagons moved out as expected and made good time and covered ground, encountering only dusting of snow mixed with grass. Temperature was in the low thirties and we did end up experiencing some gusting winds.

I hate reports.

One minor injury reported; the ground where Elisa struck it with her head. It left a pretty good dent but should return to normal in time.

I hate reports.

The wagons continued moving through the night with periodic stops to rest the teams, check harnessing and grease axles. Those who had time after seeing to these matters could stretch, eat, whatever they could fit into the halt before the wagons moved again.

I hate reports.

Ubar got one of his need to know moments and rode back towards Turia to see what, if anything was following Tuchuk since the Kataii were reported to be about a day behind us as far as wagons and herd goes.

He has not yet returned.

I hate reports.

The wagons are currently halted to tend to the stock and chores, eat, check the wagons and axles and all harnessing. Once we have eaten, we will again move out.

I HATE REPORTS!!!!!

UNOFFICIAL REPORT

Column attacked while on the move by Kataii numbering 4 Oralu or more.

The column halted to tend to the dead and wounded. Actual numbers not yet available.

A med wagon and a small medical supply wagon were among the property casualties. The med wagon was lost to fire and the medical freight wagon was partially damaged along with partially damaged cargo.

One Surgeon was killed and one healing kajira. Both in the med wagon. One kajira badly burned. Kajira in the supply wagon.

Healer's Migration Log

It is no surprise that the medwagon is now full to bursting once more.

The Ubar has been sedated and remains under sedation after a lung was punctured due to an arrow.  He is in DRAGONSLAIR under the watchful care of his Ubara and a healing slave with a tube inserted into his chest to help with the removal of blood and air from his chest cavity.

Koke of the Ubara's Own, also is sedated and will remain sedated due to a punctured lung from an arrow.  He also is in DRAGONSLAIR being watched by the Ubara and the healing slave.  His condition is much like the Ubar's with a chest tube.

Carr of the Healer's Own is... you guessed it.. sedated and will remain sedated due to a punctured lung from an arrow.  He is resting in the Healer's Own barracks wagon with a healing slave to attend to him and HIS chest tube.

Healer's were apparently running a special sale for treatments involving punctured and collapsed lungs for this Raid.

I was unaware.

There were too many minor treatments to account for and again, anyone who does not require a Healer's constant attention were sent back to their wagons to recover.  My rule for Migration and duty of if you can walk out and hold your weapons you're fit for duty still holds.

The medwagon is now residence to 172 injured Warriors who cannot walk or had major surgery.
The number of dead from Tuchuk that were prepared for pyre totals 540.
The number of dead Kataii, is unknown at this time to the Healer's clan.  Those who died amongst the wagons have been prepared for their own separate pyre.

I hate reports.

I hate snow.

I hate ice.

I hate rain.

I hate mud.

The column remained in place after the confrontation with the Kataii to tend to the wounded and dead. (See above Healer's Report)

The rain continued to fall most of the night and the ground is terrible.

When the morn comes, all salvageable supplies will be transferred from the destroyed and damaged med wagons to the main medical wagons. The perimeter med wagons are too exposed while on the move.

After the transfer of supplies our situation will be reevaluated and will go from there.

Healer's Migration Log

The supplies that could be salvaged from the outer medwagon that was destroyed and its nearby freight wagon were moved from that location to the main location's freight wagon by thralls.

The wounded who would not have a pleasant trip in regular cots have all been moved to hammocks to make the trip just a little easier.

The Ubar remains unconscious on purpose.  He struggled to regain consciousness, but I quickly put him back under.  As soon as the breathing tube can be removed, it will be done and I'll let him wake up, until then, it is better for all of us if he remains under.

Supplies have been moved and secured.  What could be salvaged from the burnt wagons were as was still intact pieces of timber.  The bosk teams from those wagons have been assessed and dispersed to other teams or back into the herd after evaluation by the herder clan.

Notice was given out that if you can get up and move you were rotated back into duty.  The longer we remain due to the rain the likelier chance we are to be vulnerable to follow up attacks or getting stuck.

We do not linger.  If there is a free body, then they will be put to work.  Burnt timber from the wagons will be utilized in front of wagon wheels of Dragonslair and the freight wagons to get them moving again out of the muck.  We must avoid getting stuck.

At first break of the rain, we will move again.

Healer’s Migration Report

Migration Report

After the rain stopped, the column began to move out.

The mud had other ideas.

I now hate mud.

Despite all of the pushing, pulling, dragging and slogging, after three ahn we made it a total of twenty-eight passang.  Twenty-eight.  That is all.  The wheel boards were put down and we halted once more before the bosk, the kaiila and the people of Tuchuk dropped from exhaustion.

The bosk and kaiila didn’t, but the people did.

Many of the Warriors who haven’t had sleep since we left Turia and the fight with the Kataii are exhausted, starving and dehydrated.  The medwagon porch quickly filled up with such Warriors who were given juice and in severe cases i.v.s of fluids.

Tuchuk could not continue like this.

I tried to talk to Cassius.  He was half out of his mind with exhaustion and kept talking about the War as if it were happening right then instead of the past.

I tried to talk to Boris, in charge of the 1st while the Ubar is out of commission.  He didn’t understand a single word I said.

At wits end I was about to forge some Orders when the Ubara gave me permission to sign the Order from the First Wagon.

The Orders were delivered to Terran.

All flanking Outriders will now be moved to within one passang of the Column.  These Outriders are split into three shifts.  While two shifts are resting, the shift will patrol the Column within one passang outwards.  The two shifts resting will be fed by wagons along the Column and will hydrate while resting.  This will continue until our Warriors are once more at the top of their game.

Salem’s  Unit, riding a rear guard at four passangs towards Turia will be replaced when Warriors are able to move about on their own, so that they may return to the Column and rest, eat, and you guessed it.. hydrate.

The herd has been moved to the left flank of the Column and even integrated inside the Column with patrols surrounding it.

Warriors, Healers and healing slaves not currently resting were given the task of resupplying the medical wagon with saline solution to be used as fluids for those too dehydrated as we were running dangerously low on prepared bottles.

Bright spot.  Literally.  The sun came out and stayed out for most of the day, hopefully drying the mud enough so that when we begin again at dawn, we will not have to fight so hard to get moving.

The Column will remain halted throughout the day and night to allow our bosk, mounts and people to rest and rebuild their strength.

We move out at dawn.

By the Skies let there be no more mud!

Migration Report

After several shifts of rest, eating and hydrating our Warriors are back into somewhat healthy territory.

The Ubar was awoken and he decided a little payback was in Order.  After getting medical clearance he and the 1st are heading back to Turia to raid, pillage and burn down the Kataii encampment.

The wagons will push on with short breaks to tend to axels and allow the bosk to rest until we reach the next available water source.  This could take anywhere between a day to four days depending on where it is and the ground conditions.

When we reach the water, we will be waiting for the Ubar and the 1st to catch up with us.

It is our hope that we can reach the RoT and cross before the Kataii forces catch up with us and another battle ensues.

This is Tuchuk though, and best laid plans never quite go the way we want them to.
