Entry Sixteen

The column has traveled most of the night before halting.

Casualties have yet to be determined in numbers as they are still being gathered after action against the Kataii blocking our migration route.

The column did break through, but it was costly. Three freighters of textiles picked up from the caravan were left behind to occupy our pursuers at our rear as we continued moving forward.

No exterior light or fires. Blackout conditions.

Rest, eat, and await instructions. Prepare to receive wounded when they arrive.

Since leaving the higher ground, the wind has lessened and we are seeing slushy freezing rain instead of snow. It is slowly getting warmer, but not fast enough to suit most.

Simply maintain until a course of action can be completed and put into Motion.

The column is on the move again. The wounded and dead have been collected and tended as best as possible under the circumstances. They will just have to tough it out as the Healers make due with what is available.

The weather marginally improves. We have rain instead of snow, and mud instead of frozen earth. The wind has eased up as we move through the flats.

The column will continue through the day and stop at nightfall to see to the stock, rest a short while, eat, and then move on again until morn when again we shall halt and repeat.

It is my hope to stand the 1st Oralu down come the morn so they may seek adequate food and rest for as long as possible before returning to duty.

Migration is beginning to exact its toll on morale.

Entry Eighteen

Column rolled through the night stopping prior to dawn to tend to the stock and wagons. The 1st has been stood down to rest until recalled.

The column again begun its march before midday and will roll on throughout the night with periodic stops to rest the teams.

The weather grows warmer with each passing ahn. We have left the snows behind, contenting with mud for the present. At least the rain has stopped for now.

The column again rolled through the night stopping just before dawn to tend the stock, rest and eat.

The march began again just before midday and will roll the rest of the day and through the night with only periodic breaks. The temperature is in the low 60's during the day and growing warmer. We still contend with soft ground and rainy mist.

The River of Tears is growing closer and closer. If we cross in one piece, we have overcome the last major hurdle in our trek.

All are tired, hurting and sore, and the wagons are in dire need of servicing and repair. The teams and the kaiila have leaned down and need to feed well and rest for a time.

It is my hope to halt again prior to dawn as has become the norm, and again pull out after food and rest.

The column was forced to halt in fog too thick to navigate. The River of Tears is on our left flank. One can hear the rushing current.

In the dense fog, the column was hit by combined Kataii and Kassar forces. There casualties sustained as well as given. We lost one freighter and two standard wagons burned in the encounter.

Our wounded and dead were gathered, the wounded enemy left behind perished beneath the knives of our Women. All weapons and valuables were stripped from the enemy dead and they were left for their own People to deal with.

The fog eventually burned off, the misty drizzling rain ceased. The column is again moving along the Vasic (Southern)bank of the river and will continue until we reach the point of crossing where we will halt, tend the stock, wagons, eat, and rest before attempting the crossing.

I do not expect it to be an easy crossing. Prepare yourselves.

We have crossed the RoT and are moving on without stopping. Any wagons unable to continue are to be burned.

The 1st Oralu will remain behind to pick up stragglers, survivors, and bodies until further recovery proves senseless.

There has been extensive damage and loss.

We will soon be in our wintering lands. It is not much further.

Entry Twenty-two

After pushing hard to reach our wintering lands, we have arrived.

The camp forms up from the inside out in the order it will pull out when time to leave again.

Those of the main area will be leaving for The Point in the morn for supplies and wagon repairs.

Remember to check the camp maps and the lost assignments so you know where you are located!

Well done.
